I'm really glad that I found your vid. Your advice is so on point. Been wanting to change career path for some times but still stuck in the same spot. Just do it. No gimmick, sacrifice the binge shows & be creative on time management
Well said! There are always sacrifices, you choose what sacrifices you want to make to get rewarded later. TV generally takes so much time without any productivity gain, I decided to sacrifice that. Good luck on your journey and God speed! Feel free to let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks for boosting up my energy again. I want to swith technology and i have already invested a lot of time on this but could not succeed... Want to give it another try with more positive energy this time. Thank you.
Thanks for your motivational video. I can totally relate being from mainframes background. I have tried many initiatives to switch but stuck somewhere. Now I'm thinking to go ahead with Azure learning in 2019. Good luck to me👍.
You are never too late! Cloud is still relatively new compare to other technologies. You still have plenty of time to catch up, market is far from being saturated. Good luck and best wishes.
Nice video!! I am a mainframe professional with good number of years experience but currently on carrer break since last 3 yrs. Please let me know how can I change my carrer path to AWS from mainframe. I want to get back with some good change!
@@adimyra6771 Good news is you have concept of how an actual real world project works, what factors to think of for high volume traffic, DB2 database knowledge and you can transfer all that to cloud world as well. Start with this free practitioner course from AWS (aws.amazon.com/certification/certified-cloud-practitioner/), then go for solutions architect associate or developer associate based on your interest. Then you can choose a specific area (devops, networking, security, serverless etc.) based on what you like to go deeper.
Hi Raj, thanks for such an awesome video, I am from physical security field having all my experience in CCTV and fire alarm field, have some CCNA knowledge....do you recommend me to switch my carrer to aws cloud architect. What are the pre requisites / knowledge for it before going to cloud practitioner. What is the online course do you recommend for aws csa. Awaiting your response.
Thanks Zohaib! For Cloud Practitioner, you do NOT need to have any prior knowledge. AWS has bunch of free training for practitioner (aws.amazon.com/training/course-descriptions/cloud-practitioner-essentials/) and it's a great certification to start. You mentioned you have CCNA experience, you can use some of it for AWS Networking. AFter you are done with practitioner, I suggest trying things out and see what interests you most. It is always possible to switch to cloud! Best of luck!
@ Agent of change thanks for the post. Just stumbled on your channel. So far loving the content. As someone who is in the middle of changing careers and has a family it’s hard. But I will put some of your suggestions into action. I love a good challenge and can’t wait to start my career in tech and eventually become a devops engineer. Thanks agian. Keep the video post coming.
Hi raj..I recently migrated to Australia. My wife was computer science lecturer in India she want to enter IT industry without prior industry experience .Can she go for Cloud certification being cloud architect..Is it possible?
It is possible, however it always helps if you have some real app building experience behind you, so you have some real world experience and learning architecting systems. Since she was already a CS lecturer, what I'd suggest is start studying for associate architect , and at the same time start doing hands on some open source projects, do hands on with devops. Devops doesn't need full on traditional programming, but mostly infrastructure as code and scripting. She can easily get a job with DevOps knowledge + Architect Associate certification + CS teaching background. Hope this helps. Best of luck to you and your wife.
Ty sir im actually a student of 3rd year of ur ex college kalyani government engineerings college.Thank you sir for inspiring us and teaching us so many new things .
Good start! I'm from a mainframe background and currently considering my new career options. I'm very interested in cloud right now and would like to pursue this path. I think some of the biggest challenges for people wanting to shift, especially if their background is only one language/tech, is the fear of not knowing enough and/or the possibility of starting from the bottom (salary and position wise). Could you share your personnal experience in dealing with these? I'd like to hear what made you make the shift and the struggles you faced. :)
Check out this video - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-SAXD_hm72P0.html where I talk about my struggles and tips of switching career from mainframe to cloud. Hope this helps!
Yeah start studying cloud Suvendu, that's where the future is. From the current as400 landscape, learn the DB2 well, that knowledge will be useful to learn cloud databases as well.
Hello, I am currently working as a tech support. Been only three months as I joined the job. Thinking of switching to aws solutions architect. Would you recommend this switchover. Btw, I have graduated as a CSE engineer
I strongly recommend the switchover Rajiv. Since you already studies CSE, it will be relatively easier. Start with the free Cloud Practitioner material from AWS (aws.amazon.com/certification/certified-cloud-practitioner/), then go for either Developer Associate or Architect Associate. Note that programming is programming at end of day, whether you do it in Cloud or Onprem. You just need to learn some services in AWS on top and you are all set. Good luck and best wishes Rajiv!
@@cloudwithraj Thank you very much sir. I am as of now preparing for cloud practitioner. Will be giving you updates regarding the same. You are the best.
@@cloudwithraj ha another Saha☺️ ..ami o AWS/cloud technologies e move kore chi from Middleware .. your video is really helpful for anyone trying to switch to AWS . With so many services and contents available online i feel main challenge is to come up with a structure plan and select first set of absolutely essentially services to learn first.
Hi, I just came across your video. I have 1 year of job experience and I really want to change my career path into AWS. However I do not have any prior experience in it. Kindly tell me what should I do.
Thanks for that great video. I am really thinking of changing career. If I have basic programming knowledge for PLC and HVAC building Automation, How do you recommend moving to AWS career?
Good start will be go through AWS Cloud Practitioner study materials (Free from AWS - aws.amazon.com/training/course-descriptions/cloud-practitioner-essentials/) to get basic concepts of Cloud. Then study for AWS Solution Architect Associate exam. By this time you'll know which area of AWS you like the most - analytics, devops, ai/ml, database etc. Then you can build on it following the tips on my video. Hope this helps, good luck and best wishes Bevnoty.
Hi raj, im a software engineer as well as mobile app developer. But im tried from copy paste coding project. So i want to purse my career in cloud computing. I have the beginner level knowledge about this Field. Please guide me where i can start it from? And one more thing Im confused between aws solution architect and aws cloud.
I belong to Mainframe Db2 (DBA).. Want to shift to cloud by doing Aws certification.. Which Certification should i choose and path to proceed forward..? Plss help.. Thank you
Generally in Cloud world, there is no specific DBA role since most of the database management task is handled by AWS. You have couple options - Solutions Architect Associate is a good start to know about the AWS ecosystem, another option is if you like data (Query, Analytics, Cleaning Up) you can go Big Data route and get the Big Data specialty, if you like to code to deal with data (fetch, update, delete etc. via code) then go for Developer Associate. Hope this helps, thanks!
Hey kossi. Can you share little bit of your background - do you have any IT knowledge? Do you discuss application with your architect? etc. Once you give me some background, I can share some suggestions.
@@cloudwithraj Thank you for replying. I do have IT knowledge like Linux, Python. I passed the Solution architect certification exam. I am a Bank Manager currently.
Hie.. A great informative video. I have a doubt though. I am from a complete non IT, Non technical background. I have done my graduation in business management and currently working in a leasinf bank in payment operations. Is AWS for me? I am very much fascinated and want to change the field very badly. A reply would b very appreciated and motivational for me....again...A big thumbs up!!! Subecribed to ur channel..!!
