OMG... From Perú, Big THANKS!! I spend almost 24h Whatching tutorials and no one repair on that litlle step, really, you Rock!! I was about to return my New godox equipment
Thanks for the tip. I couldn't find the ID setting in the menu system. After searching the internet I had found that I needed to update the firmware of my TT685s from 2.0 to 2.1. In this update the ID setting in the menu is added.
Thank you Rachel!!!! Wasted hours reviewing videos and docs and not a single one mentioned or emphasized the ID point. I was about to return the trigger and then saw your post. I did it and it worked!!
As previously commented on, the explanation given in this video is clear and concise. In addition, a recent video, #godox #godoxxtrigger #hyop tiled “Godox X1T vs Xpro vs X2T wireless flash X trigger range comparison” compares all the current Godox triggers, which do not all have the same features. The referenced video also mentions which triggers have the wireless ID setting feature that are addressed by Rachel in the above video. When I shoot an event I have used all 3 types of these triggers and have wondered why some of the flashes worked and some did not which led me to use the slave mode for line of sight units to get all the flashes flashes working (which can also create other issues). Gosh who would have thought - it is just a flash trigger?
Oh my goodness! All the while I was puzzled as to why my Godox wasn't connecting and it turned out it was the ID setting. After turning it off, the channels work perfectly. Thank you so much!
Rachel: OMG Thank You, Thank You. I have Google searched, RU-vid searched in attempt to find solution as to why I could not link and you solved my frustration ARGHHH! problem with your short 1 sec. reveal. I am new to flash and am truly appreciative to your having posted how you overcame the problem. Thanks again from Canada... ~ Jack
You rock, others just spoke gibberish, but my favorite was Godox’s video in Chinese with english.subtitles.... WTF? You got to the point and gave the critical information that was not intuitive that made it work. I own a ton of Godox equipment and this is the first time I have encountered this way of setting transmitters/flashes/strobes. Many thanks!
Ah thank you Bob!! tell me about it!! I can't believe the only full tutorial is all in Chinese!! Bloody nightmare! I lost a WHOLE day trying to figure out why I couldn't get these triggers to work!! And the answer was so simple!! Crazy eh!
You are a godsend. Just unboxed the same gear and had no clue where to start. Didn’t even occur to set the IDs nor long-press the buttons. Thank you :D
Thank you very much. I was pulling my hair out with all the settings but the one I needed to get the flash was your mention to make the flash the slave, WHICH in hind sight makes all the sense in the world. Thank you very much. You put all those egg heads to shame!
You are amazinggg!!! I have the same and getting angry because i couldn't sync both. Noww, just saw you short video I got this!! Thank you soooo much 🥰
Oh my GOD!! Thank you so much!! It's my first ever Flash + Trigger, and I spent an hour messing around with the settings. I kinda gave up and came across this video! I can't thank you enough!! Hi from Singapore ^^
Mine wouldn’t sync without setting an ID either, although other You-tubers said you don’t need to set an ID unless shooting with a group of other photographers. Thanks!
OMG I've been trying to figure this out for weeks!! Thank you so much, I spent hours watching videos and couldn't figure out what was wrong with my flashes. Hope you have a lovely day!!
Well if you set ID to OFF in the menu of the X2T it will also work at least for SONY (letter S on both X2T and TT685) , what needs to be done is to set the channel identical on both items , set the flash to slave and M for group A , set the X2T group A to M also . It took me half day too !
