Hey hey! So sadly us Canadians do not get this feature. It's still only for US and UK, let's hope that changes. However, you can add links to all pins now, including idea pins. Just make sure you are allowed to share that affiliate link on Pinterest.
Hey Nadalie, Your content is awesome as usual, and extremely helpful. Question, as an amazon affiliate, when I create an idea pin prior to publishing, do I have to toggle "on" PAID PARTNERSHIP? I've done that twice and it shows on my pc when I check my idea pins it says under my pins it says paid partnership but it doesn't say that under any of the idea pins I created on my pc. I just want to be sure I am not doing anything that will affect my account. Prior to publishing my 1st affiliate linked tag, it directed me to do so and I read the Pinterest info but they don't have a "for dummies" version so I was a bit confused. In other words, is this something I need to toggle on or should I leave it off since I am not paying for any ads or anything. Thanks for all that you do.
Hey Leslie! So, I'm not a legal expert on this, but from my perspective / interpretation, an affiliate link is NOT a paid partnership. It's an affiliate link, which you will toggle when you add in the link. This paid partnership feature is for if you have a brand partnership. As in, this is a sponsored pin or part of a brand collaboration. Like brand X, paid you $200 for a blog post and pin, or brand Y paid you for inclusion in this pin or the linking content. Affiliate marketing is different. You get paid IF someone purchases with your link, with brand partnerships you get paid FOR that pin, feature or content. Make sense? If you do NOT have an agreement with the specific brand, do not tag them with this feature.
Do you have a video about becoming a "verified merchant" on Pinterest? I recently had a task board/bar added to my account to set it up. I tried searching the channel for it, but I didn't see it. What is it? Do I need to do it? Do you have a tutorial?
So, I actually don't, but I can add it to the list. Taking a break from long videos for now, but once I'm back. I'd just google it, there's got to be other's who have outlined the process. Use Shopify or WooCommerce, it's the easiest to connect.
I'm very confused. A friend just got her Amazon Associate account shut down because she put an Amazon Affiliate link on Pinterest. It's my understanding, and hers, that Amazon doesn't allow Amazon affiliate links on Pinterest. So, what is the real scoop, and can you refer me to something on the Amazon Associates program that clarifies this? Thank you!
You need to genuine pinterest site and website. Also need to use unique or creators approval to your content. Also be aware to give credit to original creators.
Did she disclose that it was an affiliate link? As in, did she keep the sponsored product label on there instead of taking it off? I thought that as long as we disclose that it's an affiliate link that it is okay to post it anywhere it is public.
Hey Barbara! So, when it comes to affiliate marketing one must ALWAYS read the fine print. Every single program has their own rules about how and where you can share their links. Amazon, doesn't even have the same rules for every country. For example, they do NOT want their affiliate links shared on social media. Secondly, tagging an Amazon affiliate product in an idea pin is NOT the same as creating a pin that links to an Amazon affiliate link (which as stated above, is NOT allowed in the US). What I shared in this video, is allowed, as you clearly saw me do it and the product images loaded from Amazon.
Sadly, this option is only for US and UK markets. So Amina, you should have this feature. But all idea pins now have the link option so as long as you are allowed to use that link on Pinterest you can add it in.

Is there a way to schedule idea pins? I have started using them. I have them saved as drafts, but then I have to remember to come back and post them. Also....can I tag affiliate products when I post my idea pins from my computer?
Hey Leslie! Yes, you can now schedule idea pins (but they are being phased out by Pinterest). All pins included idea pins now have links, but this product sticker is still (and will likely remain) a mobile app only feature.
@@NadalieBardo I saw your video saying that Idea Pins were going away. Does that mean that the ones I have currently and am still posting will just mix into my other posts (according to date) when Idea Pins are gone?
@@heartworkbyleslie yes that’s exactly right. They won’t be at the top anymore, mixed in with all pins in reverse chronological order. Newest first, oldest last.
@@NadalieBardo That will be good. I have a question about Rich Pins. When I set them up on my account, it deleted all the views I had on everything except my Idea Pins. Was that supposed to happen?
@@heartworkbyleslie Hmm that's odd, but I wouldn't stress about it. I doubt it deleted the actual views, likely just not showing you. It may have reset the tracking. You likely see Idea Pin stats still because they are cumulative stats, normal pins are just 30 days. So you will see your views again soon.
