How to take "dead aim" when putting - This has transformed my game

Bought a deadaim marker and getting to trust the line it gives me looking down at my putter beginning to hole some good putts. Your tip on exhaling before hitting a shot has worked wonders for my putting also no tension in my arms and feel confident of holing putts from anywhere now. Before I had the yips and jittered putts now exhaling before hitting a putt has me looking forward to putting, never felt like that for years. Thanks

Great idea and congratulations to the Scot who invented it. I always use the putter-line on the ball to hit a drive straight off the tee; this tool should work for more straight drives into the fairway as well as in sinking more 8' putts: Just pick the fairway target, line up the tool, pick an intermediate blade of grass in line with the correct prong on the tool, pick up the tool and swing away at the intermediate target! A hint: the correct prong establishes the correct swing path, depending on the ball's position relative to the sternum.

Excellent speeder of play I would think. As a fiddler about of the ball getting the line straight ( and often adjusted and restraightened, readdressed and whatnot) I sometimes worry about such things.

This is better as my neck isn’t flexible enough to see both the line on ball and target at the same time. For the first time ever I’m getting the line on ball accurately aimed (at where I believe it should be aimed,) and wow, game changer. I couldn’t find the Dead Aim, so bought a similar product on Etsy.

I am going to try this, I really struggle to get lined up correctly on puts inside 5 feet, especially if the ball is to the right of the hole. No matter how I position myself I always miss it to the left of the hole and like you, I really struggle to get the stupid line pointing where I want it.

Without the fancy marker -arrive at ball on green, place coin or other marker behind the ball, pick your aim line, pick up the ball and while standing or crouching, hold the ball at eye level with the line pointing down your target line then lower the ball to the ground, to your ball mark, pick up your ball mark and drain the putt. Alternative is to roll your ball over a point on your aim line about 7 1/2 inches in front of your ball. To be as accurate as possible, I try to pick the tiniest blade of grass or imperfection on my target line that I can focus on and then roll the putt. If I can't spot something exactly on my target line I look for something as close as possible and compensate as best as I can. It's something you might want to practice so you can do it fairly quickly.

Steve I wonder if you could help me out with a question I have. I am not long back from their driving range. And I have been working on trying to complete my back swing with the driver. Is there any little tips you can help me on where if I come down too steep it is causing problems with hitting the driver.

Have you coordinated the eyes with line from the side of ball. Yes dead aim is good for lining up the putter.

It will increase confidence in those who can't use their binocular vision to use the "line". Time saving? Using the line works for me and surely it saves time if I miss fewer putts. In effect when Steve went back to check the line, he was taking the same time anyway?

I was using *the Line* on my Pro v1x. I stopped because I found myself getting too "fiddly" with Setting the Ball's Line to the Line of the Putt. Part of my Identification Marking on my Ball is Red Dotting 3 Dimples to form a Triangle. I aim the Triangle at a spot about 18 - 24 inches along my chosen line, stand and set to That Spot and then *I concentrate on Pace, since I am Positive I am Aimed On Line.* As I putt, I focus visually on my short Putting Line and softly see the ball sitting on the line Last thought: I replaced a Bullseye Blade Putter (25 years in my bag) with a 2018 Scotty Cameron Newport 2.5 last season. *I removed the Black Paint from the Alignment Line (similar to the White Line on your Zing 2) and placed a Red Dot on the Top Edge.* I found the Black Line "grabbed my vision" and I was watching the Putter Move Back rather than *staying with my Putt's Line.* Thanks, Steve.

This is genius! like you say it takes out the "doubt " of the put. Can it be used in comps ? Also, say if any break is right to left or left to right, you'd always line up the inner line with the outside edge of the hole ?

Most balls come with a line already on it. Trick is to pick your starting line and find something closer on the starting line as your reference. Like a blade of grass, bit of leaf etc. line you ball up with it, address the ball with the line on top of your putter in line with the line of the ball, but don’t look at the hole when putting. Putting comes down to trust and feel. Trust the line you picked, focus on the ball line and putter line and feel the putt without looking at the hole. (The hole will normally be in your peripheral vision). Just putt and the ball will follow your line and will go towards the hole. Give it a go, practice on the putting green and trust your line. I am sure you will be putting better in no time. It has improved my game immensely. 25 to 20 handicapper in last 12 months.

way i always used the line on the ball is the same way i line up without a line i pick a spot out in front of the ball. So its just as fast to me using or not using a line on the ball i just found if you look down from the ball all the way down the line on my putter its all square all i have to do focus on the speed of which line i choose to putt the ball on... there several different lines the ball will go in whole on every putt.... putting all about the speed

Ruling question: Could a person use a "laser light" to aim the ball ... using the laser on the line I want to start the line of the putt and then putting the line on the ball or the name on the ball lined up with the laser light? Is that legal or is there anything in the rules of golf that prohibits a laser light?

Like you, I have blank white on top for the same reasons. Lining the line up the way most of us do is slow and takes a few back and forths to get the right angle. I've told high handicappers to stop doing it because they're already too slow. Might be useful 8' and in though.

Hmmm. Bit of a large chunk of metal to mark your ball with . . . . . your playing partners aren't going to fancy it if its in the way! Personally don't have a problem with the line on the ball, I just extend it to the aim point with the putter shaft

Surely, if what you described is true, you will not aim your line on the intended start line but on a line parallel to the intended start line? I appreciate that may only be 5mm inside the line, using this example but......In addition, why do you feel very comfortable going back and forth lining up the Ain Line and the ball and yet frowned upon it, when doing exactly the same wit the ball line. I guess if it works for you, who cares but your explanation seems entirely flawed

You can't mark a ball when choosing a prong unless you put the same prong behind the ball. In other words you can't mark the ball with a middle prong and then replace it with an outside prong .

I ordered on based on this video. This is absolute rubbish and a waste of money. I really hooed it was good but it is really hard to get the ball lined up with it. I had recently watched James Robinson's video on aiming. It is way better than this.
