Hosted by Noah Gilbertson, you can learn how to take incredible sunset photos. Sunset photography is a great way to strengthen your photography skills.
These are some of the topics that will be discussed in the video.
Where should you go to get the best shots?
Why shouldn’t you leave right after the sun sets below the horizon?
What camera settings should you use?
Below is my list of my favorite camera settings to use when photographing sunsets. But, feel free to play around with your camera settings as well.
First, you want to get out your widest angle lens, if you have an 18-55mm kit lens, that would work perfectly.
Second, you want to set your ISO to around an ISO of 100, this is to get the least amount of grain in the shot as possible.
Third, you want to set your shutter speed to anything above 1/50th of a second I tend to set my shutter speed to anywhere around a shutter speed of 1/400th of a second. This takes the motion blur from little to none.
Fourth, you want to set your white balance to “Daylight”, which we will be talking about in next weeks episode.
Fifth and final, you want to set your camera’s aperture to a narrower aperture like f/16. This allows for everything to be in focus making for both an in-focus background and foreground.
Enjoy!
