Thanks for giving me a newfound respect for the humble ringmod and being super entertaining at that! Your old Twingmod is a beast btw. Wonder what you thought of it the first time you plugged it in and set it loose..
This old gentleman is by far one of the most enthusiastic and happy people I have ever seen! Just about everything he did made me chuckle or laugh outright. HEHEHE Oh btw, i'm 65 yo myself, and I really wish I had even just half of his energy. EDIT: Your name is Kjartan? That's definitely a Nordic name! Greetings from Denmark.
Wow, that was one of the most positive and entertaining videos I’ve ever seen. A lot of videos tend to be very mean and entertaining or positive but don’t hold your attention, but this video managed to keep me interested and happy the whole time. His enthusiasm and joy really made my day better. Thank you for that!
Very thoughtful presentation. Not only did I learn what I wanted but learned something I want to go out and try. Thanks for taking the time to do the video.
Man you are too cool! I'm a pretty aspiring amateur experimental electronic musician living in a digital world, I love learning about the maths and physics behind sounds. Making music is so therapeutic, nothing beats tweaking a synth for 4 hours straight searching for that perfect sound! Thanks for taking the time to make this awesome video, parting your knowledge to the world is an amazingly selfless thing to do so thanks for spending the time showing us a fraction of your amazing world!
Great! You kept me company. I have the MF102 and want to use it in a musical way (with guitar mainly), rather that it sounding like a sci-fi apocalypse. You are a great character and have lot of passion. Thanks!
Such a fun video! Now I want to a) build a dual ring mod and b) bite my own ass for selling my moog ring mod & lpf. Thanks for the great watch, I must be one of the ten, haha!
I don't even know how to play piano but I love synthesizers and your videos are just so entertaining to watch! Hoping for more videos like this one or like the one featuring Prodigy :)
watched it all, wonderful video! ive been watching synth videos all night and this is the best one. love the in depth explanation of what is actually happening with the sound of the synth. exactly what i was looking for, thank you
Your enthusiasm is infectious, what a great video! Thank you for sharing. I found a MF-102 at a bargain price earlier, can't wait until next week now. Happy new year!
So much doubt hidden in your words, but you process such knowledge. Such a wealth of ideas and experience. It like you think people aren’t gunna like it as much as you? That’s bologna! There’s so much packed into a 20 minute video that wouldn’t take years for someone to work out in there spare time. Challenge people with your enthusiasm! It’s contagious! Who gives a fuck if there’s math involved wth it! It’s a fundamental property with what’s happening in the machine. Anybody serious about it, and this sharing that same feeling as you, will keep going with you. The video isn’t for anybody else but “those people”; from one of “those people”. Very refreshing to see a RU-vid tutorial with SUBSTANCE. Everybody could learn a lot about not only this ring modulator but also themselves watching this mans enthusiasm for Music!
Wow, i have never seen your channel before, but its great! Great humor, explanations, technical skill and musical skill! Nice sounds, powerpoint, demonstrations, and a nice energy
i love this video. Ring mod and Moog ladder filters are two of my absolute favorite sounds. I'm going to get Warm Audio RingerBringer since it is so affordable compared to a used Moog ring mod.
Don't know if you have heard of the DACS Freque II. A duel ring mod, that also lets you split up the sum difference tones into 2 different destinations. Lot's of possibilities with big modulator rigs, or just basic keyboard synths. About £1,000. Not sure if links work in RU-vid comments tho...Will try in another comment.
Amazing videos. I used to play a little guitar but never progressed as much as I wanted. Now I find myself very passionate of synthesizers (for two years or so already) and find channels such as yours very instructive. Thanks a lot. Cheers!
I just came across this channel three minutes ago, I haven’t even gotten into the video. I already am overjoyed and know I’m in for a treat, and now looking quickly at the comments I feel like I came across a treasure.
You, Sir, are my kind of geek! I don't know what I enjoyed more - your ring modulator or the glimpse of my own (not too distant!) future... Keep it up forever! :) x
I think you got more than 10 people in the world that watched this video till the very end. Yes, I'm number 11! Nice lesson on ring modulation, very detailed and informative.
Rally great video! you are the best :). Very informative and entertaining. This helped me to know how to use the ring modulation on moog modular. i watched till the end also :). all the best!
By my definition, dont "tame" it at all! Feeding a ring mod through some analog delay and a basic looper, lots of fun synthy tones can be created. Add an expression pedal, and go nuts!
I fell in love with ring modulation after this video, fast forward to last year, I was able to afford a second hand moog mf ring mod, so far it’s my not so secret ace, superbly beautiful and oddly melodic machine. I laughed as it’s true, it’s tricky to replicate a ring sound twice hahah, oh well…more time to have fun with it Thank u for this awesome video:)
Your videos are brilliant, and you have some fine vintage gear there that I may never be able to get my hands on :) Keep up with the great attitude, your love for the weird sounds is awesomely beautiful
