I am working on some rabbit hides and needed a refresher. So now I am going to egg tan a few more hides today.

I accidentally left mine in salt for 3 weeks so the scraping part was a bit harder than neccesary but all good 😂

We have a hide that has become stiff. Most of the skin is off. Can we rewet it and then do the salt process?

I would try it. Also if you want the hide part to be soft like leather instead of crunchy and stiff, then you need to stretch it until it looks white and is softer. best done when its almost dry, but still has a tiny bit of moisture in it.

Should be okay if it dries you will wash it out at the end process anyway with some shampoo.

Great mom and son moment ❤️ I'm 44 and now "tackling" this 😆. I wish I would have had a cool mom that didn't tell me I shouldn't do it because it was gross etc etc etc. I hope it turned out nicely for you!
