Does this work with Mac? atm I can't see the extra options bar you have above dolphins "Open, Refresh, Browse..." bar, most notably missing the "Movie" option...
should work on a mac, not sure cause I don't have one. Are there things at the top of the screen like with other applications on mac? Might also differ depending on what version of dolphin you have
So I feel like I'm going crazy trying to figure this out... is it possible to use the states between 1 and 8 when you're in the middle of the TAS? Or can a TAS only be recorded from one save state to another, and a new input recording needs to be started for the next segment? I just want to have one slot I can overwrite continuously and load from to correct mistakes as I go through the level but it seems like saving the second state always ends the recording
Yes you can load from the states between 1 and 8. Just make sure you are set to read+write mode before loading those states. Otherwise it wont record what you do after loading that state.
Thanks for replying! I’m starting to think my dolphin installation may be the issue as it’s a portable installation with some custom settings for a specific rom hack. I don’t see the “read/write” on the window for the game and every time I frame advance, the game stops recording inputs, so I’ll try a fresh install
What happens if you switch to read+write (in hotkey settings the toggle is called “read only mode” bind it and hit the key to see which mode it is in, hitting the key switches modes) load slot one and let the game run for a bit while doing some inputs, save slot 2, now switch to read only mode and load slot 1. This should play back those inputs
I had this issue as well. If your ROM of the game is compressed, this error will occur every time. You need to uncompress it or find the ROM somewhere where it isn't compressed.
i’m trying to do wii sports tennis and when i switch to read only mode and load to save 1 it doesn’t show my gameplay and it’s basically still in read/write mode i think it might be because it’s not recording because when i press my start recording button no message shows up or anything can you help please
Ya that sounds like it hasnt started recording. When you hit start recording, the frame counter in the top right should reset to 0. Thats how you know it started, keep in mind the first save has to be made after this point. And you would jeed to be in read+write when you start recording
@@zerne7887 well, is it not recording? Hit your start recording key and let me know if it resets the frame counter. That will tell you if it does actually record or not.
@@zerne7887 one of two things 1. if its already recording, this will say "input:" on the top white bar of the window 2. the recording button isnt bound in hotkeys.

Dolphin is just an emulator for Gamecube/Wii. But Theres this thing ive heard of called "LibTAS" which might work for linux or something. Not sure as ive never tried it. clementgallet.github.io/libTAS/
