Great video my friend. I’ve done fish taxidermy for years but never crustaceans. Try denatured alcohol mixed with borax instead of bleach as bleach will lighten it. Also even if u use bleach try injecting it inside claws from between joints with a syringe. U can do same with legs. I’m doing a spiny lobster this way. I injected the fleshy antennas this way. Excellent work! Ive been doing blue crab taxidermy for little over a year now. I also sell my mounts on ebay in shadowboxes and classic style mounts. I take the claws off and clean out the meat, than i glue the claws back on. I spread and positions the legs out on a styrophome board and wait a week for everything to dry. Of course i place everything in shade for them to dry. I coat the crabs in resin epoxy. I never thought to spray in clearcoat to save the natural color.
@@AAPECREW Sorry for the late response yes I have done a Maine lobster and it turned out well. Ive always wanted to taxidermy a snow crab but they are very expensive. My local seafood market sells them whole and alive. Im located in Orlando Florida.
you said to put on the clear coat first, do you put it on after you clean it out? or before? The rest of the video was really clear! I was just confused on that one step
Once you clean the crab or lobster when you have it ready to leave it out. Then you want to coat the crustacean with the clear coat of spray paint to help preserve the natural color.
