I'm just smiling watching your video. My son just turned 1 and I've been doing things before but not so structured. I'm excited, going to start soon. thank you
Yay so glad! Thanks so much for sharing! And it totally doesn’t have to be super structured, but starting to get your child used to a little routine can definitely help them get used to what to expect throughout their day! Enjoy and have fun! 😊
This is so helpful. My son is 19 months and I’ve been asking so many moms how to homeschool and they say just play but this is so much better formatted . I appreciate this I will start doing this with him now
I'm so glad it was helpful! Free play and exploration is VERY important at this age, but my goal in making this video was to help parents become aware of the different developmental areas they can keep in mind as they go about their day. ❤️
I'm a solopreneur working from my home office with 3 days per week, fulltime 24 hour care of my 15 month old grand daughter. Mom and dad both work long hours Sunday through Wednesday so I gladly have the "home school" regimen down to a T. Thanks for sharing. There are several great tips I will put to use right away. You are a gem.
I'm an active grandma my son is in the US Navy stationed in California my daughter in law and I live in Florida with my grandson who is 1 my daughter in law works I'm retired I'm at home so I want to learn to be more than just spoiling him with things😂 I bought him a walker which taught him to walk I needed this I appreciate you I'm applying this video I take pics of everything he learns or do creatively with cuteness so my son and daughter in law can see his progress so they can be included in Sevyn's day thank you I subscribed😅❤
@@PocketfulofParenting It's funny because before seeing this video I had called my mom and was like " what did you do with me when you were a SAHM and we didn't go to daycare? lol and she literally said the same thing you did. She was like " you don't have to entertain him all the time" lolol yes. Us moms can definitely be hard on ourselves
This was such a fabulous and very helpful video. I love your set up, how you showed him doing the activities, the emphasis on the very relaxed structured day. Thanks so much for sharing and helping parents start off home schooling opportunities for their kids!
I'm just smiling watching your video. My son just turned 1 and I've been doing things before but not so structured. I'm excited, going to start soon. thank you
This was so helpful. I’m a stay at him mom and our routine is similar, sometimes I just feel like I’m not doing enough and this was reassurance thanks for sharing 💕
So happy it was helpful! Yes, I totally get feeling like you’re not doing enough! I’ve had major mom guilt for the last 2 months since my other son was born because I’ve fallen out of my routine with my older son. As parents, we can tend to be overly hard on ourselves. Keep up the awesome work! ❤️
Just watched your video. Clearly you’re an amazing mother. I’m a first time mom and I realize how far behind I am with my child who is 13 months now. I’m going to try to do this
Aw, thank you so much! Please remember that every child develops at his/her own pace! The biggest thing at this age is to provide a simple, safe environment for your child to explore their interests and be there as a guide to support them! Don't think too much into it. You're doing a great job! 💗
Great advice! 03:29 - 04:46 was especially helpful. Fine motor activities like playing with blocks and engaging in drawing can greatly benefit a one-year-old's development. The activities using a container and popsicle sticks or recycled lids are fantastic ideas. Thanks for sharing! 😊
This was so helpful. Im a first time mom and I regret so much not diving into these things when he was smaller. He's 17 mos now so I guess better late than never. Thank you so much.
Never too late! Also, you were most likely hitting these areas with your little one without even knowing it 😉. At that age, EVERYTHING is a learning experience. So glad you found it helpful! 💗
This is helpful. My 18 month old does some of these but I noticed he’s been watching more tv . Definitely getting him into a flexible routine like this will allow for us to do more activities and watch less tv. Thanks
So glad it was helpful! I totally know what you mean. I recently had my second baby and our routine has been thrown out the window, so my toddler is watching way more TV too. Having a routine definitely helps. We’re slowly getting back into it! Thanks for watching! 💗
Thank you so much. This will be helpful as a first time mom of a 11 months plus and as thrift book and learning resource seller here in Nigeria. I've been trying some like reading to him. I've been thinking of introducing him to scribbling on a writing pad but I wasn't sure of when to start. This video here has given me the push I need.
So glad u make these videos. I just recently decided to homeschool my son bc of all the mass shootings and plan to start preschool this fall when all the kids go back to school. So I’m definitely going to be referring to ur videos to help guide me to help him grow properly
It’s so sad that we have to make difficult choices like this as parents, but I’m so happy you’re finding the videos to be helpful. ❤️ Best of luck on your homeschool journey!
Thank you very much with these info., I am a single mom of 1year old baby girl, Self-Employed, sometimes business is not doing well and cant afford to pay Day care, I was living with fear, sleeplessness nights, but now i feel like God answered my prayers, you are so good, your contents are so exciting and understandable for Moms with No experience of teaching. Thnk you again🙏
I love your interaction and responsiveness to your viewers in the comments. I hate having to ask a RU-vidr about something in the video and never get an answer, subscribing. you are a great mom & person!
This is very helpful as my son is now 1 year and 2 months. He is a preemie, so now his corrected age is 1 year that I can do these activities with him!❤
This video really relates to me on raising my second baby and believe me guys this tips are really helpful and developmental. Great video for new mothers. ❤
Some of these things are similar to what I did with my daughter when she was 1 in 2020. She's 5 now. She can do quadruple digit addition and Subtraction with carrying and borrowing. Were on double digit with single digit multiplication and have begun division. Your son must be very advanced right now just like my little one! I have another 1 year old now and want to do the same thing with her! This video gave me some great ideas to improve an already great concept. Thank you!
I'm so happy I found this! I'm at home and my son is 13 and a half months and I was just thinking how I need a better learning routine for him. This is perfect and made me realize I'm definitely not doing enough at the moment.
First time mom here. Totally going to look up mutiple items you presnted in the video aswell as classroom decor that was up on the walls and floor. Thank you so much! I made a few things myself so my 2 year old can learn. Going to look up more of your videos. So encouraging and inspiring thank you girl💙👍
@anuajihdeYahweh I'm so happy you found it helpful! Thank you so much for taking the time to leave such a kind comment and for being a part of this community. 😊💗
Excellent video. After watching this, I made my daughter a bottle cap drop game and a popsicle stick drop game and we play with them multiple times a week. Working on setting up a similar schedule, thank you for uploading!
This has to be the best helpful video I've seen by far on RU-vid. Thank you!!! Gave me ideas! I'm trying to teach my 15 month old to talk & only knows mum & dad haha. Thank you again! Very straight to the point video, I love this xo
Thank you so much! That means a lot! 😊 I actually recently put out a video with tips on teaching your child how to talk that you may find helpful. You can check it out here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-vdgNrcfMbO8.html Thanks for being here! 💕
I'm so excited be jumping into this with my daughter! I work early mornings so I'm home by noon so I Wana do a routine with her every day when I get home! Thank you!
@@PocketfulofParenting thank you and I will. She likes to watch Gracie's corner and jools tv now I try to mix in the fun songs with the abcs and learning videos. But I'm getting her flash cards this week!
Amazing video, thank you so much for sharing your journey, we’re getting started with our 1 year old and this is a wonderful guideline. Thank you so much!!
Thanks, Elisha! Remember, it doesn’t have to be anything complicated or super structured. You’ll find you’re meeting a lot of these developmental areas with your normal interactions between you and baby. Best of luck and have fun! 😊
My baby is 13 months and i feel soo guilty not trying this. She doesn't want to be touched by anyone else than me.. i don't know how to start this but will give it a try😢.. thank you for this, i know it will save me alot
I'm so glad this helped! It's very common for a child of this age to be so attached, but I know how hard that can be! Just remember, the biggest thing is to provide them with lots of play opportunities with lots of safe, age-appropriate materials. It doesn't have to be anything fancy or complicated! Children are always learning. You've got this. 💗
New subscriber here. Our baby just turned one and don't know what to do. I am not even an educated person. But I can learn from you. Thank you very much.
These are all great activities. Your son seems to be thriving. Please mention to your viewers that with small toys children under 3 should be supervised closely as they are choking hazards.
Thanks, Karen! I usually mention that in most of my videos, but I must have forgotten in this one. I appreciate you pointing that out. I added a disclaimer to the description. 💗
Thank you so much for the video, I have a 1year old (14months) I have her watching Gracie corner so lately she’s been starting to say her abc’s literally those are the only three letters she says 😂 I can tell already that she is very smart so I want to get started now on her flash cards. I’m definitely ordering them now!
I am so happy to have found this. My granddaughter is almost 14 months and it's evident she is a bit behind because her parents aren't even trying. So Nana to the rescue and Nana's baby is 33, so I've forgotten a lot.
@@maryjackson1361 They leave her in her playpen with a doll and a bottle. They spend all day on their computers basically ignoring her unless she starts bawling.
Thank you so much for this video! I’m a new stay at home mom and lately it has been very overwhelming trying to create a schedule and find activities for my son. He’s 12 months and I feel so guilty bc he watches tv more than he does activities :(. Any recommendations on activity items to purchase first? I don’t want to go over board purchasing items for him.
Hi Nesha! I'm so glad this video helped! I know how overwhelming it gets being home with littles all of the time. A very loose routine definitely helps! And don't feel guilty! We go through seasons when sometimes we just need things like TV for our kids just to keep our sanity! I had my second baby in September and completely fell out of this routine and felt totally guilty that my son was watching so much TV too, so I feel you! When it comes to items and activities, I have some other videos that may help you get a better idea of what I'd recommend, but you can do so much with what you already have at home! Here are some videos that may help. You got this, Momma! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-BOU7ppY6EyE.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-82U0DZlf2fI.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-xSTAjp-aIzY.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-MWlkAN0Csoc.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-F7whnNVO71Y.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-x9M5KUWLEDE.html
Thank you so much! I was a preschool and kindergarten teacher prior to having my son so a lot of the stuff you see was accumulated through my years of teaching. 😊 Best of luck and thank you for watching! ❤️
Hey Aida! I bought them off of Teachers Pay Teachers. They’re digital files so you just download them and print them out, then I laminated them. Here’s the link: www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Chalkboard-Theme-Decor-Bundle-Black-and-Bright-2694499
I love this so much!! Totally going to start this routine. I've been looking for something like this. Thank you. I have 1 year old twins and a 1 month old so it's a little hard to stick to anything but I'm going to try this. Thank you for posting! Can you tell me where you got those numbers, letters, and shape cards that are on your wall? I love them!!!
I'm so glad you found it helpful! Here is the link for the decor: www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Chalkboard-Brights-Classroom-Decor-2694499 (It's a digital download, so you buy it, print it and laminate it on your own). Just remember at this age they are always learning, so getting them in a loose routine is super helpful and just being a guide for them to learn! Follow their lead! You've got this! 💗
I'm so glad it was helpful! Here's my affiliate link for the pointers: amzn.to/3SDOxY2 and the number and alphabet cards I purchased as a digitql download, then printed and laminated them. Here's the link: www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Chalkboard-Brights-Classroom-Decor-2694499
Hey innovative momma thank u for this video I am from zambia and we don't usually have enough to buy toys but this is so helpful I would like to Know how you made some of diy projects like for sensory development. Thank you
Hey Betty! So glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for watching! I actually have a video on my channel about how to make some DIY sensory activities for babies and toddlers. You can find it here! 😊 Hope this helps! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-82U0DZlf2fI.html
This is an excellent and very helpful video. I have been a nanny for four years now. Recently I have been taking care a six months old baby girl. Myself been in childcare field over 20 years plus. Do you think is it too early to apply all those majors areas in her routine ? She is a very high observed and aware things around her so well. Any advice you have would be much appreciated and thank you !!
I’m so glad you enjoyed it! Thank you so much for watching. When it comes to routines, 6 months is definitely not too young for a very LOOSE routine. Having things like naps, playtime and feedings on a schedule will definitely help develop structure and routine, even at a young age. You can definitely have targeted “areas” that you explore with her during your time together, but be sure to follow her lead. For example, for movement, you can lay her down (or sit her up if she can) and hold out a toy while you encourage her to reach for it, or put on some upbeat movement and try and encourage her to move her arms and legs. The main thing is to follow her lead, interests and cues. If she shows interest in what you’re doing, keep going. If she keeps turning her head and looking away or acting uninterested, move on. Setting up a safe environment for her to explore while you sit back and observe and supervise is an awesome way for her to learn too! I hope this helps! Thank you for being here! ❤️
This is great but where did you get the lego board from and how long does it take to do all this including nap times....i love this so much you are awesome
@tkeylove3148 Thanks! So glad you enjoyed! Here is my affiliate link to the table: geni.us/D2MBKb . When it comes to timing, there really is no set time for everything. I'd just recommend following your child's lead with how interested they are in each thing you do. Some days it will take longer because they'll be more interested, and some days they may want nothing to do with ANY of the activities - and that's perfectly okay! The biggest thing to remember at this age is to provide multiple opportunities for them to play and explore on their own with lots of safe, age-appropriate materials. Hope this helps! Thanks for being here! 😊
This is so great! I have a 14mo old and I have a loose structure like this to help him maximize his learning but nothing like this! So glad I found this channel. One question: how do you get him from not getting into all the other things in the room/ class environment? We have toys stashed away in trunks and try to do a toy rotation with his toys so he’s not overwhelmed. Is it just a matter of continuous redirecting?
I'm so glad you found it helpful! Love that you're doing a toy rotation already! That is so helpful for keeping interest and preventing overwhelm and clutter! When it comes to not getting into the other things, I try to create a "yes" space where my kids play as much as possible - meaning what I have in their reach I'm okay with them accessing at any time. For the other supplies and tools, I have 4 tall cabinets in the playroom that have child locks on them, so I keep all of my supplies and toys that I don't want my kids to continually access in there, out of reach and locked away. I totally understand not everyone has the space or ability to have this setup, that's just what works best for us - but I would recommend trying to find a system to keep things put away that you don't want to be accessed by your little one at any time. Much less exhausting than trying to redirect constantly! This helps them to have a safe, child-friendly environment to freely explore and learn in! I hope this helps! Thanks for being here. 😊💗
I’m already a twin mum, it was different with the twins 😂, they’re now 5. My 1 year old has more attention, it’s different either way him too. Waiting to move so I can start getting some material.
Hey! I purchased them from Teachers Pay Teachers as a set. Here is the link: www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Chalkboard-Brights-Classroom-Decor-2694499
@chemay_loves9553 If you purchase the pack, you’ll see there is an option to print 4 to a page or single letters to a page. I believe I did the single option and changed my printer settings to print 2 to a page, so they’re each half a sheet of paper (horizontally). Hope this helps! 🩷
The biggest thing to remember at this age is to follow their lead! You're doing amazing! For the posters, I purchased a digital pack and printed them out and laminated them myself. Here is the link: www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Chalkboard-Brights-Classroom-Decor-2694499
Thanks! Around this age, we loved touch and feel books or anything interactive (like lift-the-flap books). Also, shorter books with more simple story lines to hold those short attention spans. But be sure to read a variety of books and pay attentions to what your little one shows an interest in! 😊
So glad you liked it! I bought them from Teachers Pay Teachers and printed and laminated them myself. Here is the link! www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Chalkboard-Brights-Classroom-Decor-2694499
I just purchased these designs and sent them to a print shop to be printed on white paper. www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Chalkboard-Brights-Classroom-Decor-2694499 Hope this helps! 🙂
My 12 month old can already walk and just loves to destroy things right now =) How can I get his attention and get him to sit still for a little bit? He doesn’t really play with us the way your baby does.
Ah yes! The fun REALLY begins now! 😄 This is totally normal. Their attention span is super short at that age and they are wanting to explore big time with their new mobility - and that includes destroying things (unfortunately for us 😂). They’re learning all about cause and effect and how things work in the world. Start by seeing what he gravitates to when he goes to play and try interacting with him with whatever he chooses. You can then start trying to encourage different “activities” as he gets used to this. Simply providing different things to play with and explore (even safe common household items, like pots, bowls or spoons) is a perfect activity. It’s honestly just trial and error and finding what catches their attention. Every child is different when it comes to this. I hope this helps! Keep it up! ❤️
I was kindergarten teacher too, in my country Peru, now I am running my Home daycare. Your baby is adorable.😘 By the way, where did you get the numbers ? I like it.
So glad you enjoyed it, Rosemary! I purchased a digital bundle from Teachers Pay Teachers, then printed and laminated it myself. Here is the link www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Chalkboard-Brights-Classroom-Decor-2694499
