How to Teach a Labradoodle to Stay 

In this video, I show you how I train a labradoodle the stay command. I am demonstrating with a 6 month old Labradoodle puppy.
When you start teaching the stay command, I found it to be very helpful to put the dog on top of a platform, step, or on top of a dog bed. This helps make it really clear to the dog that you want them to stay in a specific spot.
Steps:
Get the dog on top of the platform. Tell the dog to stay. Back away from the dog and then return to the dog and reward them if they remain in the stay.
If the dog breaks the stay, say "Nope" and return the dog back to the platform. Practice this process over and over again. As the dog gets better, you will start increasing the distance away from the dog, increasing the length of time the dog can stay, and increase the distraction levels.
