I’m not a teacher but my teacher lost a bet and now I get to teach 7th period. My history class. I’m super excited because I want to make it super entertaining and let them learn at the same time. THANKS!

Great tips, especially storytelling. After watching your video, I changed the order of a story I tell when teaching the Constitutional Convention. Moving the story to the beginning of the lesson for a memorable/dramatic effect. Thank you!

Right on! Tap into personal angle as part of your topic for the day. And story telling, yup, as part of one mode of delivery of content, instead of always reading text. Awesome... keep this channel going. 26 years in the classroom - this is it.

Thank you for your kind comment Eliott! I think that when kids find that immediate relevance to what actually happens in their life, and hear it as a story, it just makes more sense. It's like a movie to them. Thank you for taking the time to watch!

Hi! Actually I have a video where I share some ideas to design your own learning games (or evaluate learning games you may have/find/want to use) so that they actually work with YOUR students. I also provide some suggestions as well. Let me know if you find it helpful😊 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Zdq_rw8tjqg.html

One teacher of mine in the previous semester told us that he finds it fascinating how school can make a person hate knowledge. The same spieces that wants to always learn more and more, since the dawn of time. And it is kinda sad because such amazing topics are not dealt with fairly And for the game part, YES, non formal education can be so beneficial, even if it is done through formal education

It's unfortunate but true. Between the limitations state governments place on what can be taught, how the teacher delivers and allows students to explore topics, and the inflexible structure of school for students who have different interests and learning needs, it may turn students off to learning. However, I also know there are amazing teachers that do everything they can within the confines of what they're assigned, and they do amazing enough that some of us still continue our pursuit of knowledge to this day. And for those of us who didn't have such a great experience with school, sometimes that motivates us to seek our own knowledge outside of a school environment, which is awesome too. I don't think its knowledge we hate, just the parameters that define how we learn in school.

@@TheGamePlanEduSolutions that is very true yes, and certainly there are amazing people on education doing the best that they can, who actually care for what they do, and they actively want to share their passion with students, while also being limited by the nature of this job. I had some of these teachers in school and I found more in university. I always admire those people, and as I hope to one day become a professor, I wanna do my best to be one of those teachers :)

@@xrhstospex8106 I'm sure you will do amazing. Having an awareness of how we are limited as teachers, forces us to be creative in the ways we motivate, inspire, and teach our students. Glad you're a part of this community! Welcome!

@@TheGamePlanEduSolutions thank you very very much. And I understand that being a teacher does mean that you are limited but being a teacher in school has far more boundaries than being at higher education. First of all your students didn't choose to be there😂. But again, thank you very much for the conversation and for the video 😊

Your ideas seem like good ones, but they're vague and not especially helpful to me as presented in these videos. It would be much more helpful to give specific examples from actual lessons so I can fully understand what you mean and compare that with what I already do/fail to do.
