How To Teleport In Spelunky 2

3:21 I once died due to a Telepack telporting to me after Olmec crushed It. I Lost the Udjat Eye in the drill, so I did not even know there was a Telepack there

I don't even have spelunky 2, I just want to undestand what's going on on Teleporter runs from pro players.

The telepack is such a good addition to the game. Hands free teleportation, and an emergency teleport? So cool

Some things I learned with teleportation: As demonstrated at 4:38, momentum is kept when teleporting, so trying to use it to negate fall damage is risky because you need the +3 rule to just put you ontop of a block. Axolotl are risky to use. You have to double jump before you can even teleport with them, plus they make you taller and are generally risky to try and tame. A certain item will teleport you every 22 seconds. Be careful with telepacks. An unseen danger can make you teleport and if you were about to jump you might teleport again. Since your jump button is used for climbing up ledges you want to make sure you dont hit the button twice. Another note is to take a moment to look at your surroundings after teleporting. Unless you're super good with teleporters it's better to be safe then accidentally teleport into a wall.

I have been looking for this exact type of video since launch. I LOVE the teleporter, but I just knew there were things I didn't understand about it. Every chance I got, I picked this thing up. I threw away every run to learn about the teleport mechanic whenever I got the chance. I always felt extra... safe maybe is the word? There were so many times I would be safe when I expected to die, this video taught me that it was because of the +3 rule. I felt that rule but could never understand completely what it was or how it was saving me, it was just there. Anyways, I absolutely loved and appreciated this video, thank you SO much

Can we just talk about how smart Derek was designing the downward teleport range? Going upwards, left and right all has a range of 4-8 you might be confused as to why teleporting downwards has a range of 5-9 then. It is actually specifically designed this way with one extra block because in order to teleport downwards you need to JUMP first. If you try to teleport downwards while on the ground you will just drop the teleporter, so they designed the downwards teleport range with that 1 block difference because people will be jumping before doing it.

Minor tip that could save your life with a spoiler item: . . . . . . . . If you're stunned with true crown and about to teleport, you can't change the horizontal direction you're facing, but you can still input up and down to teleport vertically

I love how the teleporter has a 1 in 5 chance of being in a facing position, 4 to 8 blocks nearest to the player, and immediately collapses into a definite position once you use it and see where your player is just like photons

2:45 It is possible to bleed without getting hurt using telepack.

I would say another con of the telipack and axolotl are that you have to double jump to use them, and that also means that you can't yoshi jump off of rides with the telipack on.

IIRC the +3 rule was originally +1 and -1 in HD) This certainly makes it more fun and safe)

OHHHHH So that's what killed me that one run. I ran into a shop, shot the Keeper but I also clearly remember there being a telepack in there.

once i died because a telepack from the shop in volcana teleported into me and blew up when a magmar touched it while i was off doing my own thing
