In some countries like Turkey they are more expensive like they can go from 20$ to even 40$ us dollars. In my country all their products are like under 12$.
In my country (Brazil)the ordinary products are really expensive, like $30 (R$ 150 in our local currency)so, websites like wish or aliexpress are selling them for under $10.
Keep in mind the color of this product is never the same, the plant they use to prevent irritation is what makes it red and it changes color depending by the season it’s harvested at...
To make it short: -The box shouldn’t feel like glossy cardboard, the real should feel velvety -The label on the bottle should be printed in black bold writing, the fake will have grey writing or have printing faults. - the fake product won’t be full up to the top, the real will be almost full to the top, with room for the pipet - the fake will look food dyed and watery.
do you know if there is a way to spot fake moisturizer? i just got a new moisturizer from my aunt but the texture is different, more balmy and not as grainy/creamy as the last one i bought and the address information is also different. My old one says; DECEIM, New York, NY 10003-7033, LONDON E2 8DN, MADE IN CANADA, FABRIQUE AU CANADA, WWW.THEORDINARY.COM The new one says; DIST. DECEIM, New York, NY 10003-7033, LONDON E2 8DN, WWW.THEORDINARY.COM So, i'm not sure which one is fake or real because the new one i got was from my aunt and she just gave me the tube without the cardboard box.
Please read this blog threebs.co/blogs/beauty-101/read-this-before-ordering-the-ordinary this analysis can end up ruining somebody's business and its not accurate
anqi wlthr i mean it personally doesn’t burn me and I got mine from a link from Hyram da channel, it probably just means your pain tolerance is super high, it shouldn’t be a cause of concern but maybe before you buy the product check the website you buy it from is legit x
How evil can people be? How can you sell fake products knowing how badly skin condition affects one's personality and actually be able to sleep at night? 😭😭😭
Calm down. Not everything you watch on RU-vid is true and correct. The uploader of this video does not have a single drop of authority to tell whether the product is fake or not based on packaging alone. I am a user of The Ordinary products and packaging differ from time to time but th effects on me are still visible.
Turns out mines has a darker tent of blood. Sooo mines might be fake..but im hard headed and stuff usually works for me and i used it anyways. I spent to much money to throw it away. Ill stop using it when ik its gonna fuck my face up all the way. I only used it once so aint nun happened
Carelle Robinson I don’t know why I bought it from there first. It was the first option I saw so i just did it quickly. I should probably take more time with this kind of thing.
guys please keep in mind some people are mistakenly buying these fake serums/exfoliators (especially this particular brand) because they are being fraud by the irresponsible seller because of the price mark up and please understand for other countries that is not US,, the price for these stuff are quite expensive bcuz of the currency conversion and import export cost/shipping so yes for other countries ie:malaysia this brand is not affordable for us..tqvm stay safe peeps💜✨btw i love this brand so much especially the niacinamide serum but hell the price here is damn costly 😭
I’m confused because I bought 3 Bottles at Douglas, which is a legitimate beauty store in Germany, They aren’t even allowed to sell fake Products but all signs of it being a fake product are there when it comes to the packaging. Now I bought a bottle off of beauty bay, which also may seem legit looking at the packaging & recommendations but the color is a bit off, I don’t know who to trust anymore lol.
Mine doesn’t burn on the skin ....is it because my skin is not sensitive or it’s because it is fake??....most people say that it must have a tingling sensation when you put it on
same! it does not hurt at all too. According to the video mine corresponded correctly with the authentic she showed except for the color? people say it could vary
s m depends on your pain tolerance too and how susceptible your skin is. If you’ve used any light acids before using the ordinary or you’ve accidentally put something really harsh on your skin In the past like lemon juice, your skin may have just built up some kind of strength and immunity to sensitivity
I think I just received a fake one from Wish. 😭 Update: Definitely fake. I submitted a refund request which was immediately approved... Never buy this from Wish!
Yes wish is selling all fake ordinary products I saw the prices are very law compared to other online out let’s in Middle East these products goes for 35 USD
Same but I got it from a website i don't even know. It just looked fake at first but now thanks to this video i know it's fake 😭 I wanted a summer glow up and this came to me two weeks before summer holidays ends are you kidding meeee i hate my life 😭😭
THANK YOU FOR THIS VIDEO!!!!!! From the bottom of my heart. My FAKE product I purchased on Wish arrived today and I was planning on using it tonight with my teenager. That was a close call. Thank you!!!!!
I bought mine from ebay here in Australia...nothing felt on my face and no difference in my skin and I thought it's me who's at fault...I didn't know there is this fake market out there 🙄
Mine is the same super strong scent but no tingling didnt feel like a peel at all n mine was off ebay and once they sent it product got pulled down so cant even leave a neg comment to warn ppl
the ordinary peeling solutions cant b sold in australia and extremely hard to find so i got mine from ali express and when it came in i swatches the product and it straight up smelt like perfume and the consistency was okay but when i spreaded it looked like it was jus coated wit food colouring and it was very sheer and didnt look as red. so disappointed
i literally bought 2 of those peeling products on amazon during lockdown and i have used 1 already and now im freaking out bc im nt sure if ive been sing fake prdoucts
I bought one from AMAZON and it’s FAKE, be careful guys. I’m so sad. the FAKE product I bought had a cherry smell. While the real one has a weird smell. No one says that but it's more simple to understand if it's real or not by the smell and the consistency
I've been using the ordinary for quite some time and one indicator I use if it is fake or not is the cap of the bottle. The authentic one has a gap between the rubber squeezer and the white cap unlike the fake one no small gap at all, fully covered . (can also be seen in the video, 02:56). The consistency is also an indicator, most of the fake ones just feels like gel-like liquid and has a good scent, unlike the original you can feel the acid-aroma once opened. Lastly, if it is your first time using the ordinary aha bha red peel mask and not doing much exfoliation on your face, do a patch test behind your ear, just a small spot, it should sting (a lot) around 5-10 mins. I hope this tips helped!
I just found out I bought a fake one and a real one. I bought the real one from the UK, I know it's real since I can compare it to the fake one which I got from China, I'm glad I realised, since I have only used it once and then I put it on today, but I suspected it was fake! Then I washed it off later because I was worried it was fake! Turns out my instinct was right! Thanks!
If u want to buy it from amazon make sure the seller is the ordinary company but I wouldn’t recommend it cos they r double the price I have ordered it from Deciem it’s taking ages if it gets here I’ll update and tell u
When I first ordered it I got it from Ulta and then the second time I got it from AliExpress and I could clearly tell that it was fake. The one from AliExpress was super red and smelled like perfume
OMG i’m so glad I saw this video! I came on youtube to find a video to listen to it while I apply this product (to remind me what the product does lol) but I saw this! I also purchased from EBAY! They were all sold out and had all these amazing results which made it seem so genuine!!! I waited over 2 months for it to arrive, but I kept getting emails from the company that the product was late due to coronavirus. I have just felt the packaging and it doesn’t feel like the rest of my products. Scary to think these brands are letting their customers apply all sorts, shocking. Straight in the bin it goes, never again. Thankyou for the video.
In my eagerness to get this product after seeing so many reviews, I bought one from ebay. Its arrived but something said just have a look to see if it's genuine. So here I am. The product smells very sweet and is quite runny. The box and bottle labels are so perfect (I have two products bought from Boots to compare). The printing and boxes are very similar with all the codes in the right places. The box for this product is as you've said, glossy cardboard whereas the others have a sort of velvety feel. I should have known really esp for what it is, definitely wait and buy from a reputable retailer. Lesson learned😞 😣
@@purpleleopard14 i live in Thailand and when i bought mine online (not Deciem website) it was smelling like fragrance, the smell was too strong and it was surprisingly cheap i had to throw it away 😏
Just buy the Ordinary products from The Ordinary website! It's cheap enough. The peeling solution color changes because of the season from the plant they use. It's not always going to be the same.
I've also noticed that the genuine one has a faulty cap compared to the fake one. I think that's one of the best detail to look for because my 2 other genuine TO products also have faulty cap.
I came to this video ONLY after I almost finished my peeling solution and got a new one, the first one I got it from ebay, and the new one from the original deciem site, when I got the new one I was shocked at how different they were!; the label, the color, even the smell. I don't even know what I was putting into my face! (shame on me for not doing a little more research) but thankfully it didn't do any harm on me. Thank you for your video!
Im so confused with my product because the boxing is the same as the real product but then the consistency is like the fake bottle. I clocked on it was runny when i was watching other people do it and noticed the consistency was thicker then mine
I was just checking mine found out that the one I didn’t use yet is a fake (put in for a refund straight away turns out that on eBay this product has been “removed” wonder why) what I also found is that the fake smells a lot more fragranced and doesn’t smell strawberry like at all, it’s almost perfume like. Glad I didn’t put that on my face. The writing on the back of the bottle is a lot more smaller and less bold as well and lastly if you look at the packaging the 30ml is in a different fond. What threw me off a little is that in her vid the colours were different the fake one in mine was a lot more lighter and almost like strawberry jelly colour while the original was a darker.
I’ve used both the real and fake and my biggest take away is the fake does not burn/tingle. The real one always tingled in some way. To clarify it doesn’t burn but it’s an acid exfoliation so you’re (in my experience) are always gonna feel something until you get used to it.
Quick story: I recently bought one from an online shop for a birthday present for my friend. I have bought it in may, but I recently sent it to her since i couldnt meet her thanks to covid. Then my friend's friend saw the product, and noticed right away that it was fake. First off, there was a space between the letters f and a in facial, and apparently it smelled like soap. When i got the product, i didnt really check it cuz i just packed it in a giftbox as soon as i got it so it was my mistake. So then i texted the online shop, asking them since they assured me it was original when i bought it from them. However, they reacted as if i was wrong and that i didnt know the difference between american and canadian versions?? How is having different versions justify the evidence that the product is a counterfeit? I kept texting them, but they kept responding that they were right so i was so fed up that i ended the conversation telling them that i was just worried that maybe their seller was giving them fake products. This made my day crappy
Responding to this two years later but this is so true. I bought 3 The Ordinary products online just to SEE if they'd be real. I had a lot of issues with the seller & when I received it today I was very surprised it even came. Then finally I opened the box to find it smelled like soap! Literally soap water with dye in it, that's what it's like. I compared the scent to the REAL The Ordinary products and they do not smell like that. I will not be trusting that with my skin.
Nahhhh...all these are marketing plan. They sale the authentic and the fake also. Both came from same factory. The authentic is to maintain the price...the fake they will locate to any online shop so they can put as cheap as they can...
I would also add that when it comes to the peeling solution, I got a tingle with the genuine product and my skin felt noticeably smoother afterwards. What I now realise was a fake had no tingle, no difference in skin texture and also left a red cast on my skin!
Omg I am facing this situation rn, the product left a pinkish cast and it I has quite watery consistency. It was not tingling at all. I'm soooooo heartbroken. Where I'm from, ordinary doesn't ship so yeah...
does anyone got a recommendation on websites with The ordinary products in stock that also ship to Mexico or other countries other than US?? trying to buy these on quarantine is hell
I think I go the counterfeit. I ordered from Wish because this product is illegal in Canada. Ugh. I really want to use it and there's literally no way for me to get my hands on it. Mine smells like grape and has a kind go gooey consistency. Its lighter in colour as well. So disapointed.
Also the French label is different. Real is listed as 'Formulations Cliniques Empreintes d'Integriite', and the fake is 'Formulations Cliniques ayant de l'Integriite'.
I'm watching this because I've been using it for a long time and I never see any results or even feel any tingling or anything. I feel like I'm just rubbing fruit punch on my face.
I think you have to use it with other products to really see results. I use it with Niacinamide and a vitamin c mask once a week and have seen an improvement in my hyperpigmentation. both my products I bought them from wish and the peeling solution doesn't sting or tingle, just an itch here and there
Hey, mine outer packagings both bottle and box are same as real, infact smell is also same as real one as u described BUT COLOR differs, its nt blood red but dark red/maroon ????? Helppppp
every batch’s colour can differ slightly. due to the plant used that makes the red colouring, the plants are different depends on harvest so don’t be too concerned about colour. be weary only if it’s not from authorise retailer
Thank you I just bought mine for 49 dollars canadian from amazon, but everything you have shown proves mine is real. I looked everywhere for it but it is sold out everywhere. but I paid much more. Either way I am glad at least Its not a fake, I used it tonight, and it is not as stingy or irritating as I expected it, I have had everything done to my face, peels, microderm abrasion, laser, filler, botox, microneedling. Retinols. but I have had no irriation, Thank god, maybe I have built a tolerance. Thank you for this easy to understand video and quick reference, you did awesome, like your accent
@@trackrena819 i think the ones you have is probably fake ? Because i saw some reviewers mentioning the seller swapping cordial syrup for the serum, thus, why it smells sweet
I bought at Asos website. It should be Authentic but mine was much closer to the fake colour. How can that happen? Is The Ordinary diluting their formula.
@@tanishitaran5103 But the bottle is filled only to the sticker like the video. I hope that The Ordinary could explain what's the difference between their batches. I'm sure they had to use a co-packer to cope with the demand which usually leads to using different ingredient supplier. Maybe they should also put on a batch manufacturing record (BMR) sticker like Lush does, to avoid counterfeit.
Josie Cochrane no it’s not worth it. anything can be in it and won’t give you the same results, probably even dangerous ingredients or unsanitary packaging. ordinary products are quite affordable next time get it from a reliable source like their website :)
There were so many other tells even the area which has the 30 ml at the bottom of the package is wider apart on the fake, the silver panel on the fake one is slightly gold etc.
I ordered the l ascorbic acid from russia and omgggg I’m so happy it’s the real deal ! It’s filled to the top has a soft velvety finish and black font!
Magdalena Strycharz you cannot. On the Canadian website where I order all of my products from the Deceim website, I cannot buy that acid peel or the azaliec(so) acid. As well as the higher percentage retinols. They are not available to Canada. It’s due to some silly Canadian laws. The products I have ordered from amazon thankfully haven’t been counterfeit. Dude if I could buy it off the Deceim website, they can have my money and I would be happy to buy it off the site.
@endless well I think mine is fake then cause it leaves a read tint on the skin as well after application. I mean when I rinse it off it leaves a red tint. I tried it on my hand
I think that a new product and last year product with different packaging. Because I bought last year and this year both same from deceim.com and i realized different packaging from them.
The red content is made of Tasmanian Pepperberry Plant, the redness in color can vary from time to time due because the plant is a natural color (as stated in the label/bottle). The color effect remaining on the skin varies differently from skin type and tone of the users. Regardless, the Tasmanian Pepperberry serves as a function to reduce irritation and promote calmness and should not impact the effectiveness of the acid.
I’m from Australia so I had to get mine from beauty bay as this product is not allowed to be sold here however I’m starting to think the one I received is fake! I don’t have the packaging so I can’t really tell anymore however it has a grape scent and doesn’t sting at all ?? What do y’all reckon fake or not
i’m scared now. since i’m in canada it’s hard to get your hands on this product (isn’t sold here). i recently just finally got this product from asos.com, supposedly a legitimate website. the bottle is like too dark to tell where it’s been filled up, the consistency is a bit sticky, and the colour is a bit purple. any suspicion?
thank you so much for this video!! i just picked some up after searching for months and the thought popped into my head “what if this is fake?” luckily mine was real! thanks again ☺️
I purchased this product via ebay because looking fantastic is out of stock. When it arrived i thought its original, to be honest i didnt even know they are fake ones out there. I have watched few videos with review of this product so after applying on my face I could see a difference. First of all the colour was different, not like blood but rather cherry...just like you showed. The most important thing however was the fact that i felt nothing, no slight burning sensation thar is common with those Aha Acids. I have used in the past all and i knew this is not right...then i saw your video and i was sure this product its fake. Thank you for this video!
hi can u check if the code is imprinted on the bottle (faked one) because a lot of people are claiming that the genuine one has a code printed on the bottom of the bottle itself
omg i’m so relieved rn - i bought from a private seller and the moment i payed, i got a wish ad and discovered there are fake cosmetics out there. They came in today and the packaging felt really high quality so i had a good feeling which you just confirmed :)
@@AP-me8rz I have already used three bottles and they are original. When you start rubbing it gets pink and kind of foamy. It's normal! Also you dont need to rub it in order to work. Have a good day🌼
@@mariamakri6674 I bought a new one from a legit seller & it finally stinged & the color is finally raspberry red unlike the first one , there were so many differences tbh from consistency, packaging & scent. But I believe these all goes down to our skin types 🙂
