I wouldn't go by that because anyone could just put any random real IMEI that they copied and printed from a real iPhone that was the same model and spec.

I have a few more videos to edit and publish that will compare Apple Original Packaging vs Fake on AirPods Pro 2 and there will be tips on things to look out for that will apply to iPad boxes as well. Till then the best thing I can think of that is a simple idea is to Google or ask ChatGPT the precise digital weight of the exact iPad you plan on buying and bring a digital scale with you. Might be able to find that info out by calling Apple directly. I feel like it would be very unlikely that a thief or scammer or someone who knows it’s fake would think that far ahead to get the weight perfect. That plus the feel and appearance of the sealed product could give the average person more tools to know for sure before purchasing. Another thing you can do is call Apple with the person your buying from in front of you and let them know you just want to check the current status of the IMEI from them directly before you hand over any money. Just let the Apple rep on the phone know you’re about to buy a phone and want to make sure it’s not blacklisted or reported stolen or IMEI blocked. If the seller is genuine they won’t mind and the person your speaking to at Apple will give you the green light. If the seller takes off then you know that something was up. Never show money without doing a thorough check and always always always meet in a public place with lots of cameras. Maybe a mall or somewhere with security. That's the worst feeling ever.. Especially when you worked and saved for it. Sorry to hear this happened to you. It's happened to the best of us. Happened to me when I was younger with a BlackBerry Bold that had a fake battery that would only stay on for 10 minutes and I worked hard back then (like now) to buy nice tech.. I wish I could offer more than the usual "this helped you grow as a person" response. I wish I could find that person and get your money back and drive you to the apple store to get that exact phone. 💯 It bothers me when people get scammed. It's not right. Had to make this video in the hope that it would hopefully help in prevention type way. I'm going to make another one soon. One of my best friends was sold a fake sealed AirPods Pro Gen 2 and want to put if side by side with the real one and do a comparison video showing what to look for. @@nassimarib6071 so we had met in a public area I first checked the imei he says I can open it once he sees the money so I don’t “run” I fell for it passed the money to my sister 950$ in an envelope I start opening it he grabs the money out of my sisters hands and runs and we couldn’t catch up I had sold my phone for this so I couldn’t take an picture and luckily at that moment cops drove by we told them to pull over and we drove around but he was gone, the phone had a SIM card slot which we don’t have in the us and it had a blue reflection on the cameras aswell as very cheap overall material it looks like ios but the keyboard is android style and very laggy and it even uses lightning to charge and says it’s running iOS

Try to use CCTV to identify the Scammer.
