@@coolwater55 no he knew his mom very well I really didn't and still don't know the real reason, for years I thought she just didn't like me, but that wasn't the case at all. And yes it is a shame she missed her grandchildren grow , at least they got to take a picture with her before she passed. I guess it's one of those things some people take to the grave.🤔

@@laurend3607 I was still in the army and actually I was angry that I had not met her, she came to my house but I was over seas and I couldn't understand why she could visit but not when I was there. I did find out that even though he grew up in her home they were not close, he loved her but loved his dad more. To me it was just complicated and just left it alone. But when I finally met her she wanted me to stay longer and talk with her, I found her to be a sweet lady. And no he didn't go visit even though told him he should he didn't but he did call at least once a week , I guess to him that was enough. He has a brother and 3 sisters and they all related to their mother the same way, their dad is one they rather🤔

I have lived my whole life in a homogeneous country so I don’t really understand. What is the problem with him being Peruvian and you being black? Just curious nothing deeper. @@murasakik245 No, that's a valid question. He grew up in the same area I did when they came to the States (3rd Ward in Tx. was kind of ghetto). That mixed with them not being to keen on black people anyway was a factor. I can't remember if it was one or both his parents felt that way.... I had experienced a guys mom being judgmental towards me before. I just didn't have the energy for that again. Hope this sheds some light.

We parted ways but it was a hell of an emotional roller coaster ride with the mom begging me not to leave her son and my boyfriend calling me crying and begging for me to stay. He hurriedly gave me an engagement ring without asking me, I did not accept it. I came to find out a little later that he had had sex with a fellow worker at his job, in the warehouse and not just once. Picking a significant other requires intervention from many sources if you are young. Choosing a mate later on in life brings experience which leads to a better choice, but at times it makes folks cynical and suspicious about love all together. Blessed are people who don’t hv to kiss a lot of frogs to find their Prince. That first boyfriend, established a mindset in my life that led me to being very careful and observant about what people tell you about themselves and what they are not telling you. I know better now.

I did have a "gut feeling" when i met my partner 9 years ago that could be perceived as "love at first sight" but it wasnt. I couldnt have known him on day one and couldnt have known he was the one. Now I believe he is, but the day i met him I was just guessing because i didnt know him. Same thing for the person im replying to. They know now, but they couldnt have known then, there's only so much information we can gather when you meet someone so you cant know if they are what you want.

Same I met the whole family of my ex fiance and he cheated on me with another woman. I am happy because I met another man and I met his whole family as well. Met my in-laws 1 week before the wedding, even though we'd dated over a year and both families lived in the same city. After meeting them I understood why he'd been reluctant, but I should have seen that as a super red flag...the trauma he, his mom, and his siblings endured scarred them all and made relationships difficult for most of them, including mine. You should know everything there is to know about that future partner AND their family, cause it (the truth) all comes out in the wash!!!
