I’m from Miami too and it does seem as if someone is always mowing their lawn. So the background noise just makes it all seem very homey. Thanks for the jackfruit tips. My brother has one that is spilling over with jackfruit and we got to figure out what to do with it.

I LOVE jackfruit. I always thought that it tasted just like Juicyfruit gum to me. I thought I was the only one. It was great to hear those words come out of your mouth. That was my favorite gum growing up!

Hi! That fruit really looks and tastes good. Wondering if you sell the seeds. I want to plant them in my province in the Philippines and as you have said it is a tropical fruit. I know for sure it won't grow here in Calgary.

I’m in Minneapolis and we have jackfruit at Hy-Vee grocery stores they were really helpful and talking about what they are that can be semi sweet like then go to pulled pork flavor.? We found that very interesting so we decided to get one it was $25 for a pretty large size one

I deep-fry raw jackfruit then saute it in onions, garlic , tomatoes and seasonings. Just another way to eat it!!

That jackfruits barely ripe, it should be softer and mushy when ripe and not struggle while pulling it out. It should slip out easily. If you eat the not fully ripe one it will be rubbery and stringy. If it is fully ripe or ovverripe it will be mushy, sweet and not fibrous.

She is terrible. That is not a ripped jack fruit. I’m grew up eating them my whole life and when it’s ripped of very bright yellowish orange. That one will be edible but not sweet.

Maybe you can help me!! Been scouring the internet, but no help, I just bought 1/2 one from Whole Foods, but the outer shell was brown, and the inside was not soft or sweet like I’ve had before. Was tough, dry and chewy. What gives?? Can it still ripen if cut? I’m very sad. :(

@@NWschusser make sure brownish color on the outside and soft. When u pressed the pointy pines they are supposed to be soft and brown.

@@NWschusser no worries. I’m glad to help. How yellow is the flesh? Typically if it’s still kinda white than no. That’s happened to me a few times and I tried to wrapped it up and see if it would but sadly no.

If I have no clue what it is and have never had one.. You told me nothing more then it has a fruity smell and it rubbery? average cost for a 5 to 7 lbs $160+ USD.. NUTS!!!
