I try to remove my crank position sensor so i cant test if it works. Its ends up breaking off inside of my engine due to corrosion. I then show how to remove it and test it.
Doing this on my 2005 Subaru Baja Turbo. Have a rough idle and stutter during light acceleration.

Same issue just a hour ago. Followed these steps including despair. Worked like a charm!

Saved me so much time. Mine broke off exactly like yours. Going to go at it tomorrow with your method. Thanks big time

I found your video this morning, and was like "well, this'll probably be my luck". Sure enough, the sensor would twist but not budge, and when I tried to pry it out it snapped right off. Drilled out all the insides and pried out the outer shell. Probably would have been freaking out if I hadn't watched this first, so thanks!

Duuuuude! Just happened to me 15 mins ago on my 08 legacy gt. About to try your method of getting it out....all I can say is either way, thanks for showing that there is some hope...and for the chuckle. Wish me luck. Cheers

You you magnificent bastard! It worked! Got rid of all the magnet and plastic inside of it and was left with just the stuck housing inside. Did like you did and got a tiny flathead in between the housing and the sensor hole and eventually mangled it enough to put the f-er out! On thing I would add for anyone else needing to do this is have a vacuum near by to suck out all the plastic and mental as you a digging at it so nothing gets inside the crankshaft area. You're a lifesaver man! You gave me hope and it worked! I owe you. Cheers

@@LivingEEE You were right. in fact, when i started drilling, the plastic started spinning so i kept pushing it. Next thing i started see oil leaking out. i started backing out the drill bit and the darn sensor came out with it. It was time to celebrate. I told some people your story about burning the truck and everybody laughed. Didnt fix my 'cranks but wont start' problem. turned out to be bad spark plugs.

‘05 forester non-turbo 2.5X ... had to end up pulling the alternator and belt to get good purchase on it and it still wouldn’t come out, but it did rotate. I eventually went to my Final Option; vice grips. I ended up with about three feet of extremely thin gauge copper wire, the magnet and other bits and pieces, but the metal ‘cup’ remained fused into the the engine block. Once I scrape it out I’ll make sure to apply some anti-seize compound on the new module.

thanks for the great video. had the same thing happen with the crankshaft positon sensor in my 2004 forester! very similar reaction too. I used the same technique to remove, thus destroying the old o-ring. Now have a crank but no start issue. Did you by chance install a new o-ring with the new sensor. wondering if this is my issue. thanks a bunch, keep up the oscar quality acting!

I have an issue where I get a crank but no start. Tested fuel and spark. Both seem good. The suspects are crank and cam sensor. Crank sensor broke (just like yours) so I replaced it with no success starting the car. Will be doing cam next. Btw did you try changing the cam sensor?
@SkyMuffinz

Was it the cam sensor?
@iudex_Luke

@@SkyMuffinz nope. It was a seized toothed idler and it jerked the timing belt and ruined the engine

Chevy glues the wire plug connectors together on their neutral safety switches. Why? Because they're scumbags. They probably glued my camshaft sensor too.
