I too chose the first Mario thumbnail. The one based on the disk. Thumbnails are small, so larger images draw the eye. Perhaps the recognition of the title means something. The again, the tool was noncommittal with an inconclusive answer.
Well, the tool was pretty clear about the first Mario thumbnail - it didn't like it! 🙀 Since it was my favorite, I thought about using that image anyway. But, RU-vid is saying what they prefer - watch time. This is especially true when looking at the test, as the results don't even show clickthroughs / views. It's all about watch time. Views are the stat that the public sees, but I think that's one of the reasons why the Pac-Man video is doing well. While it has high views, it also has above average watch time. If someone clicks a video, watches it for a few seconds, and then they leave, that seems to be a bad thing.
Lots of RU-vidrs were waiting for this feature. But now that it's here, it mainly feels like more work. Instead of creating just one thumbnail, now I'm creating three - but not seeing a clear difference. Well, the one thumbnail (the Mario one that I really liked) was not good apparently. 😄
There are lots of cat video on the channel, where you could have asked this question. Ha! 😸 I don't know about your cat. But with my cats, which don't go outside, cat trees are a requirement. That's because the cat trees are placed next to windows. It's nice for the cats. They can get direct sunlight when the window is open, fresh air, it's something to scratch, and a nice place to sleep.
