In this video , you see how to function test the raw pointer information in STEP 7.In this video we check 2 types of S7 pointers:
1- Opening DB1, form pointer to point byte number 400.The final test is writing FFFF to MW400 and by using pointer offset we write EEEE to MW402.
2-A binary access and an offset is the next example.We load 100 and multiply it by 8 .Then this value is loaded to the AR1 and the address register shows the byte address number 100. While writing DBX[AR1,P#10,5] , you will accessed to DB1.DBX110.5.
Both cases are function tested and many comments are available to make the code sections more readable.
