The question I always have is how to benefit from correct contrary beliefs. How do you monetize them or have increase reputation? It seems that the system continues to reward those that espouse wrong views and punishes those who espouse correct contrary views. One example is the 2008 crash. The minority who predicted the coming did not replace the majority who fed the crash as public prognosticators.
