I'm an English professor and RU-vidr from the United States, so I'm not an English learner. But I sometimes watch other RU-vidrs that teach English because I'm just interested to see their different methods and styles (even if I can't understand the native language-I use the translator). Anyway, I just wanted to say that I thought your videos are really good. They're very clear, and they have useful lessons that will help learners a lot. I'm always happy when I get an encouraging comment, so I like to also give encouraging comments when I see someone else like you doing a good job. You're doing great work…I hope you keep it up!
I think most people for the first time speaking English, they always translate in their heads before saying something. I used to be like that, so I tried to practice every single day to think directly in English. Now, I can speak English more fluently and with less translation.
Hi Michael, I enjoyed listening to this video. It's very helpful. I switched my phone to English, my tablet too. I speak with my horse in English, because he understands all languages. At home I speak English with my partner, somtimes an hour. I don't speak fluently, but I notice an improvement in my speaking. I'm no longer too shy to speak, I've gained more confidence and that makes me happy. There is still a long way to go to become fluent in English and only think in English while I speak, but I won't give up. Thank you, Michael, for the wonderful opportunity to learn English at "English At The Ready"!
I'm in uk. I come from hk. Since i listen to you a few days before, i couldn't help but listening every day. Your improvement tips are reasonable. I'll try my best to follow. I hope and l believe i will progress. I also support everyone here. We work hard together.🎉
I have spoken Tagalog my entire life. I will purchase Conversation Confidence Course this year. I am impressed by how your advice so clear and easy to get. I will try to read, speak and listen more. Thank you.🥰💪🙏🏻💎🍀
Even I want you to listening Because your speaking English is comfortable with me and I always following you and want to speak english like you this is my motto where I m learning English to improve my communication skills Thank you 🙏😊
Thank you very much for your clear, easily understandable and not too fast speech, man. I am begginer and actually this is a first video that I had watched without subtitles becouse I cuould hear everything and I didn't need to torment my own ears.
At first, I used to translate English in my head, which made me feel unconfident and slow as you said, and I sounded less fluid while speaking. However, with practice and the help I received from you and the club, I started to think in English and became more fluid. I won’t stop, I’ll keep practicing to become more confident! Thank you for your constant guidance 🙌🏼
Hi! Maybe it’s a bit weird, but when I listen to you, I can’t stop thinking that Russian (or another Slavic language) is native to you, or you just know it perfectly. So perfectly that it influences your native English. I’ll try to explain. When I listen to most of the English-speaking people, the main problem in understanding is not the vocabulary or even grammar, but the structure of sentences. Mostly it’s so different from Russian. Your speaking is really perfect for me. Except for your excellent pronunciation, your phrase constructions are so understandable for me. Am I right about your knowledge of Russian? Actually, this question has interested me since the first video I saw. Thank you for your channel. I really like it. Best regards! Anton.
Of course! Sure thing😊! I'll do that. Here in Brazil it's a bit difficult, mainly in my case. I don't have many friends, and my husband alread told me, that he won't learn with me. Then, i speak with myself and with my cat, when i'm home... it's the only way to practice, otherwise, i forget all the sentences that i've just learned😢.... here in Brazil it's not so simple to keeping focus in the English, the most of the population don't enjoy studing, they think it's a waste of time! People here, jugde us a lot! They say, that we are weird if we are studing something. Here it's Brazil, and here in Brazil, we have to keep all our dreams and plans in secret!😢🇧🇷
Hello sir , how are you? I'm from Bangladesh . I would like to learn English. But my listing is so bad. I don't understand any English videos. so could you say how to improve English listening?
ya i always thinking in chinese and direct translate to english very difficult to me, sometime writing in english also worry about grammar mistake. I like people speaking english the sound very elegant i love it, but i hate the grammar past tense present tense so many tense...when learn in school always cannot remember, so when i thinking in english i feel tired , scare and panic. and one more things is how can i remember the short sentence i learn from website or book, because if learn the short sentences no need to worry or think the grammar mistake^^ but i always forgot the wordings...cry... is it the vocabulary very important? If only learn vocabulary will feel boring to me, but if not learn sometime i need translate the word in chinese to english too T.T Can i call you teacher or instructor better? All this is my english level, poor enough T.T Thanks your video and you look very handsome, have a nice day to you :)
It is not that easy, particularly for beginners. Beginners only know a bunch of isolated words and some simple grammar. That is not enough to think in a foreign language. They have to think first in their own native language and then translate word for word into the foreign language. Not only that, they have to assemble the words and put them together like a jigsaw puzzle. That takes a lot of effort. To ask beginners to think directly in a foreign language is almost impossible.
What the hell? There's somebody translating inside his/her head??? 😂 We need to say It: He or she will NEVER learn the language. It's not his/her thing 😂😂😂😂😂
