Thank you so much! I bought a Baby Lock 302 a few months ago at a resale store and using your video as a guide, I was able to get the serger to sew…The two needle instructions were different in my manual tho. The needle cones were done from the outside in…. I’m pretty sure the tension needs tweaking, but it actually looks pretty good. I was surprised to find out that the threading part was kind of fun. Thank you so much for your great instructions and close up clear pictures!

Thank you a million times, i bought a used serger for my granddaughter to learn what a serger can do, just to feel around in the serger world. It is a Simplicity Frontier Sl 390, found out it is the same machine like the Babylock Lauren and made in the same Factory. She did not chain, i saw in your video the little hole under the plate for the blue thread, oh goodness this saved my headache. the seller had no patients to fiddle around for rethreading, so i got her very cheap. Hope my problem will be solved this way and she will chain for me. Thank you again.

@@babylocksewing I should say this is my first serger bought second hand not threaded (I asked to see it run) sew and vac in Fenton Mo. they said it was serviced and operating correctly. The problem was first thread threaded was breaking apparently the second thread was going through properly. They say a picture paints a thousand words but I like the videos better thank you so much.

I just purchased a waaaaay older BL450 (Proline) off eBay and the same week was gifted a Bernina Bernette 334D. I must say, I was able to thread the Baby Lock with very little issue because of this video. The Bernette, I'm still struggling with. Just on threading alone, I'm leaning towards the BabyLock. Keep in mind, I have a Bernina 350 sewing machine so I kinda wanted to keep it in the family. Thank you so much for the video 😺

I have inherited a baby lock BL302 with no instructions! I desperatly want to use this! Is there any way I can get a manuel for this machine? I don't understand the tension. My mother in-law left it for me and it still has the last threads on it when she last used it. I have several projects I can use this on and they require different colors besides the white thread. I didn't know it would trim the material for a better line. So far what I have practised on looks okay but a bit wobbly on the back side. Help!

Hi Renata! Thank you so much for taking the time to comment! We are so glad it was so helpful for you! If you don't already know, this was clipped from a longer (free!) class that goes over several more serger stitches and their settings on your Baby Lock Lauren! Check it out here: sewathomeclasses.com/getting-to-know-baby-lock-lauren Happy serging!!

Could you tell me, which stich and feed is better to sew silk materials?

Please what numbers do you keep the Tension discs, mine are all mixed up and also the Differental dial, this would help me a lot and also a great start to go.
@babylocksewing
@babylocksewing 4 года назад
Hi Renate, the standard for the Baby Lock Lauren is 4. If you look at page 12 of the machine manual, you will find information on how to adjust the differential feed.

Thank you so much! A friend gave me my Serger(we call then overlockers in the U.K.) about 10 years ago and I just could not thread it! You would have laughed if you could have heard me talking to you as I followed your instructions 🧐. After a few mishaps I think I have mastered it. I could do with an instruction book for the dials but I probably won’t touch anything now in case I mess it up. I have looked on line but can’t find one I can download. Any ideas? I live in the Bahamas so it is not easy to get anything here.

Hello! This serger uses standard needle sizes, you may want to use ELX705 needles. Your retailer can recommend the perfect accessory feet for you. Find your retailer here- babylock.com/retail-locator

Muchas gracias por su video, tenia esta máquina desde hace tiempo, se rompió una aguja y dolor de cabeza, el manual no dice que una aguja queda mas alta que la otra... oh... Con su video veo solución. Gracias de nuevo.

At the end of the blue thread, you said “thread it back through the gap” I couldn’t really know what gap you meant. I got confused

When you are done threading the lower looper, does is go above the upper looper or under it ? My thread keeps getting pulled out
@babylocksewing
@babylocksewing 6 лет назад
Hi Jane! Thanks for asking. Assuming you threaded the upper looper first before the lower looper, when threading the lower looper and pulling the thread through the eye of the lower looper, you'll lay the thread above the upper looper. Also, make sure that the thread is flowing off the cone nicely and not catching on anything as it feeds. Let us know if you have any further questions! Best wishes!

Can anyone give me an idea of how much this Lauren model costs? None of the dealers seem to post their prices. Don't care for that type of business model. Might just purchase the Singer Pro Finish instead
@babylocksewing
@babylocksewing 7 лет назад
Hello! Our Baby Lock retailers are independent and provide a personal experience and support, as well as, special pricing and promotions on our superior machines! The MSRP on the Baby Lock Lauren is $699.99, but, again, you will find special pricing, promotions, and possible bundle options at a retailer! Thank you!

The owner of my local sewing repair shop told me that Baby Lock does not make the "Lauren." I can't remember who he said manufacturers it.

I don’t get that from the diagram, that the lower/blue thread goes thru the lower loop of the two-up blue loops. That diagram makes ZERO sense to me. 1 needle, 2 needles, 2, 3, or 4 threads. It’s clear as mud. Otherwise I appreciate being able to come back to your video. Well done! 👍🏻💃🏼
