This video shows my easy method of throwing a cast net. It might not be the prettiest or the most graceful, but it works. If you would like to go catfishing with us, check out our Hooked On Cats Guide Service website at hookedoncats.net/
Finally , out of hundreds of videos, somebody shows a better way, simple, quick reload ,& will improve my effectiveness & wasting time I should be fishing. Major thanks to you.
Hi all. Duane here. Just bought my first casting net. I have watched many videos on how to throw this thing. Terry here, in just a few minutes nailed it first time without trying too to be scientific. Just grab and throw. It does take practice, but it works the best. At least for me. Thank you for simplicity.
No fluff, no verbal masturbation ...... the video does what it sets out to do ....... of all the throw net videos on RU-vid ... this one does not give the impression of setting out to pose or have that "look at me and how much I know" feel .......It does exactly what it says it is going to do .... Great! .... thank you for keeping it down to earth ....... (Cape Town, South Africa ... where "posing" and the "Look at me and how much I can talk" is frowned upon)
man i am gonna use this technique. Have watched several excellent videos explaining technique but they were bigger nets and required more coils and also a specific way to coil the net. But mine is only a 6 footer and I have already forgotten on multiple occasions how to properly coil and throw the net. So i am gonna use this simpler technique! and congrats on your viral video!
Dang!!! Ive watched so many of these cast net videos i lost count. Most all of em were just nonsense to me. Long drawn out, verbally exhaustive jabber. No help. Then I luckily came across your video and VIOLA!!! Best tutorial out there if you asked me. Went out in the backyard and within a couple of minutes I'm throwing perfect circles. Thanks a lot for sharing this. Just outstanding content sir. Much appreciated
you all probably dont care but does anyone know a method to get back into an instagram account..? I was dumb lost the login password. I love any tips you can give me.
@Rene Luis I really appreciate your reply. I found the site through google and im in the hacking process atm. Takes quite some time so I will get back to you later with my results.
Finally , out of hundreds of videos, somebody shows a better way, simple, quick reload ,& will improve my evectiveness & wasting time I should be fishing. Major thanks to you. Liked comment about practice & I am!
Thank you. I had forgotten an watched several other videos but I watched your video. Bam! Exactly the way I learned thank. Oh I live in New Smyrna Beach Florida. Great for catching bait .
So dang smooth and nonchalant, I can tell you have done this thousands of time. I seem to put way too much work in. The cast UP part was interesting, I always throw down at the water. I bet that little tip will help a lot - thanks!
Best I’ve seen yet, someone taught me this method 5 years ago, and I haven’t done since, somehow I forgot. I been searching for this method for a while. Thank you.
Great video Captain! I bought my first cast net (a 4') last August and watched several videos that featured much more complex techniques and I have been very frustrated with my progress on how to throw. I just came in from practicing your technique in my backyard and BOOM!!, I have now GOT THIS!! Can't wait to try it out in the water! Thanks again!
THE BEST video on this subject. Have struggled with a 6 foot net for years. After watching this video and practicing for fifteen minutes, I am throwing with ease and precision. When you follow this method the process of getting ready to throw just flows together. Great stuff. Thank you.
There appears to be many different ways to throw these nets, but this is a simple, doable way to do it. When I would throw the net it would lay on its side like a closed coffee filter. Thank you for the lesson on how to do it. I live by the Chesapeake Bay, in Virginia. I see mainly our Asian brothers use these nets here in Virginia Beach. Not only do they drag in enough live bate to fish all day, but sometime they catch dinner! I'm a fly fisherman from Wyoming who is learning how to salt water surf fish. So I'm way out of my comfort zone. But I notice I do better with live bate, so this net tossing is a must. I also keep a battery Mr. Bubbler to keep my minnows alive (they call minnows gugions). If I don't use the minnows I just return the unused portion back to sea. If I bought the minnows, it would be a waste of money dumpling them back in the drink. But now I return what I caught so I don't feel like I wasted my money. Its a win win. Thank you
Watch a lot of videos when I learned years ago. This is by far the easiest for someone wanting to learn. Great job. The last one didn’t open just cause you didn’t flip that slack back to after your last grab. That’s what kept the outside from opening. Not being critic because it was a great video but if you add that little flip you do after you grab the last lead it might help others even more. Awesome job, just love how fisherman are always willing to help others learn. God Bless.
This video was absolutely the best one I've watched on how to throw a cast net. It was simple and easy to follow. Best of all the technique does work. Not every cast will be perfect but the more use it the better you get.
Good video, Capt. Terry! I love the simplicity of your approach and it works great!! I hope some of the folks that have been watching the videos with people holding the lead weights in their mouth see yours before they go try it!
Looked at other videos with 13 easy steps to net casting HA! 13 and easy don't go together, but Terry You got it DOWN! Thanks Brother I was actually able to watch your video, memorize how to do it, and then drive somewhere, and recall how to do it, and DO IT! and with my not sticky brain! It worked like a charm! Thanks a lot for saving me from looking like a complete lubber Caught a bunch of nice bait too! :-)D Dave
That's how I was taught a long time ago. Nothing in your mouth, nothing folded over your shoulder all in the hands. One tip I dont think you mentioned is to turn over your throwing hand right when you toss it. I can bomb it doing like this, but I struggle keeping it close.
Have watched many vids that are supposedly quick in easy, and pretty gave up on all of them after a couple and in some instances hours practicing. This by far was the easiest vid to watch couple hours and am so stoked, not perfected yet but damn im getting. Thanks so much, from a complete novice to an I think just above net caster ...
thanks for the info buddy I'm from up North New York to Florida 10 years ago I never got into shrimping so I bought a 4-foot net hopefully I don't make a fool out of myself but I subscribe to your channel you're the best one I found on here to describe how to throw in that thanks buddy
I throw the same way, but one suggestion, do not get quite as low on your last grab of the net nearest you, I've found the if the top sags much when I load up to throw it, it tends to not open as wide, so don't let it sag quite as much. Stop at your waist instead of your hip on the last grab. Imagining throwing uphill is extremely helpful too. It definitely takes a little bit of practice. Great Vid!
Thanks Terry, you have made an informative video for beginners to understand the technique of casting a net. Other videos lose something in explaining casting. Great job and thanks for taking the time to help wanna be casters like me.
