Let me know some other areas you guys are struggling with during sparring. "How To Throw Punches Without Getting Countered" was highly requested. I'll be sure to make more videos that have many requests.
I’m not sure how to handle sparring partners who don’t respect my range and keep moving forward on me regardless of me hitting them. I know they wouldn’t want to keep trying to advance on me if I was hitting them hard, but I’m not because we’re only sparring. I end up feeling like I’m constantly on the backpedal.
Wish this guy was my coach. He makes the steps and techniques to fighting and Martial Arts look so much easier to learn and understand. He seems like a very good teacher.
Thanks for the video "When striking simultaneously with an opponent, strike as soon as your attack is taller than the others. Always stand taller than your opponent" -Musashi
Perfect!! I find that often when I get into the pocket and go on the offense, my hands drop, and my head is open to counter shots. I needed more than just, "keep your hands up." Thank you!
I’ve seen boxers use a tire to keep partners in the pocket and practice being comfortable. Maybe the hands dropping could be helped by getting more relaxed in the pocket? Just a suggestion
Amazing !!!! i'll try all these tips tomorrow, thanks champ !!!! @ Utilize Fakes @ Exiting Footwork in the combos @ Mixing Attacks @ Shoulder Up Chin Down @ Hand Protection @ Eyesight @ Head Off Center Line on entry
I feel that predictability is Linares' main issue. There's this uppercut that he has that I think he unconsciously throws - out of frustration. He cuts angles with footwork and throws from his new positioning. The angle allows him to pass the high guard. If he could consciously implement it into his gameplan, he could capitalize on its mechanics and throw combos off the angle-cutting uppercut. Maybe add in some "dirty" boxing tricks and pull the guard down.
Thanks a lot man!! I m not competing but I m very passionate about martial arts and I m training everyday and learning new thing watching your videos. Respect from Romania 🤜🤛
My one frustration of my martial art style is that they teach me to try to keep your head in the same position for every technique which is frustrating because it's always easier to get left open for a roundhouse, crescent and/or spinning hook kick to the head.
Thank you! I’m working on my distance currently, I didn’t notice, but my coach let me know that I’m still walking into punches. So I’m trying to not develop that bad habit. I appreciate the part especially about moving off of the center line. I’m one of the shorter People in my sparring class to typically I have a hard time navigating
am a natural kicker and I have the most difficult time dealing with good boxers (punchers) than any other style in muay Thai. Any suggestions of how to be more relaxed and less scared of getting punched in the face? I can don't care about kicking me in the head or punching my body, but punches to the face are my weak spot.
Sounds like a more obvious one, but the speed of your attacks is also a factor. Took me a while to get the hang of throwing punches fast but not hard. In light sparring, I just threw very slow hands because I didn't want to hurt anyone. Because of that, every time I threw a punch, I got countered pretty much immediately.
Thank you so much! This is helping me tremendously! If you're going against someone that has longer reach and hits harder, what're your favorite ways to shift angles on them in the pocket or even on entry?
Always the best content on this channel ! Thank you very much ! May it be possible to have a video about " Fight Like Joanna Jedrzejczyk " ? Have a nice day sir 😁
Thanks for the video! Im also curious but since when have you been doing jiu jitsu and how come you started? would love to also see a video on it if you dont mind!
Hey I was wondering if you have advice for regaining your technique or skills. I know the obvious answer is to train and train but should your mentality be to try and develop yourself from scratch, or should it be aiming for the same as you were before?
Can u move ur head off center line for a 1 2 so head of center for jab to the right then slip to left as u move in with cross and slip your head to left? A pro friend told me to try it and then roll out after you’ve slipped to the left for the cross?
Hey Gabriel, how do you shadow box with purpose? I like using shadow boxing to warm up my shoulders. as well as practice bone alignment and proper technique but I feel like I get little else out of it.
I have a couple shadow boxing episodes on the channel about that. They are a bit order but the information is still good. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-GD3JH3ew40U.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-NUgWujkoImA.html
Coach my heavy bag is very light its only 25 kilos when I throw a 3 price combo even with hand wraps it moves alot I am not able to utilize punch kick combos plz tell what should I do
I told my sparring buddy not to be stationary when I'm punching and also to throw a check hook to disrupt combinations, like just same time when the first punch is thrown. It works definitely on me too. How do I deal with that check hook? I can hardly throw a 1-2 without being interrupted. I use feints to get a reaction and counter the counter but is there any other way than that? How to deal with someone throwing check hooks?
Try to keep your non-punching hand high on your forehead like he showed in the vid and as soon as you feel the check hook let that hand go to finish the combo or simply duck and then he will be open for your hook?
Hey just wanted to add you should mention dropping a like, subscribe AND comment (even if its something dumb like 123) for the algorithm your videos are great and it would help give you move exposure especially when you mention how it helps others see your videos due to how RU-vids automated system works!! you do great work its a crime for your videos to have less that 250k views a piece
That probably means you are either not utilizing your full range (punches would be landing with a fairly bent elbow) or it's possible you're leaning your head forward a bit. Your feet could be in the right position but if you lean in you bring your head within striking range. Just some guesses though.
@@GabrielVargaOfficial My punches are long, so I don't have problems with someone with lesser reach, if he is not much faster, but I'm not the tallest guy in my weight class I have Marvin Hagler's body type, but I'm mostly a mobile kicker so I can get away with keeping my hands low and in boxing range I often have my hands to low and chin high in the air. And I often start from far range, because I'm not comfortable in boxing range, so my opponent has much time to react. Guess I need to take some boxing classes
