Never heard of this knot, but already can't wait to try it. Thanks for showing it in detail.

Great explanation… I always Did a bowline on a bight like a normal bowline… if that makes sense…. it always comes out but this way looks more symmetrical and doesn’t have that extra tail dangling

Outstanding. Thank you so much for your extremely educational videos, especially this one. You, and your team, are truly knowledgable. Where did you go to school and what are your backgrounds? Thanks again.

Can you let me know what kind / brand of rope you are using? Is it for climbing or pulling trees? Thanks

I'm fairly experienced with knots, and somehow this is my least favorite knot in the world. I still haven't truly figured out what causes it to turn into a slipknot sometimes.

At the very end, you're pulling on the wrong loop. Make sure you follow the parts of the loop you just made and tighten it. That will become your final loop.

@@sethmoking I think my subtle mistake is the manner in which I'm passing the "working loop" over the whole contraption, as it becomes the collar. Depending on the orientation of this collar, sometimes it doesn't easily lock down, and it slides down the working end until I move it around a bit. But it's unpredictable enough to make me distrustful. All in all, I think I've become pretty good at tying a double alpine butterfly very quickly, and I find it more reliable considering my error-prone results with the bowline.

Yup, i hear ya. the knot always seems just a bit off to me as well, doesn’t seem to dress nicely. Always works though, kinda like the brakes on my 99 suburban, feels like “more of a promise than a guarantee” that being said i use it all the time haha.
