In this Quick Bite video, we take a look at an increasingly popular long distance feeder rig. When fishing at distance your line can be prone to tangles, but this rig ensures tangle free, pin-point delivery every time.

That twisted boom is way to short even without a feeder link. With a feeder link does not help at all might do eve worse. . You normally do that to avoid tangles and that twisted boom should be longer than the lower end of you feeder.

I like mine at least an inch past the bottom of the feeder. I have found a 6 inch twizzled loop ideal, even with a short feeder link in place.

@@paulhuddlestone8378 I totally agree with you. I do not know if the guy that did that video actually. does any feeder fishing.I just hope newcomers will not take it as an example.

I have tried this rig a few times, but sometimes after 2-3 hours continuously making long casts with heavy loaded feeders say 50grms + at 60m, the knot at end of the twizzled loop, where the line stops sits, breaks, resulting in a lost feeder and end tackle. Why is this. I use an 8lb mono shock leader of 7 metres to 0.10 braid. This has happened several times when launching big chucks. Maybe I am bringing the rod over too fast, straining the knot?

The knot snapping is unusual, are you using a figure of 8 loop knot? It may be worth adding another stop above the knot to offer more protection. Hope that helps.

@@AnglingDirectTV I am using a single overhand loop knot, with either 2 stotzs or a single line stop. I will try the figure 8 knot and two line stops.

How do you put the line stop back at the end of the day?

Line stops can only really be used once, if you keep your rods made up, this rig will be fine to use on your next session. You could attach your line to the tool and pull your stop back onto the wire, however it will stretch and not grip the line for a second use. Hope that helps.

What distance is classed as long distance?

Hi Meta6, when feeder fishing a cast over 60 yards would be a long cast. But while filming this video casts of over 100 yards where made.
