Thanks for the guidance! I am really looking forward to trying this. What, would you change about your process if you were trying to marble wax melts rather than candles?

Great technique, thanks for sharing. Im curious though, if you have wet spots on your candle does this method affect the marbling look when it's cured? Thanks

I WISH I could wear rubber gloves but I’m allergic to latex. I use vinyl with powder. Thank you so much for the safety tip on goggles. It’s such an important one. I’m a soap and candle maker. Obviously you HAVE to wear eye protection for soapmaking but I just carry the habit over for candle making. A splash of hot wax can be very nasty, dyes are toxic and you are quite right about glass shattering. I could not live without my Ryobi heat gun. It’s fantastic for candles. Instead of a hairpin I use a crayfish leg pick ( perfect for the purpose) - still have the other 5 in the kitchen drawer…..

Hello, this was a beautiful video! ❤ I make candles and I want to try marbling effect after watching this video. However, I have powder candle dyes and not the liquid ones. 😢 Could you please tell me how can I use that?

What size vessel is this? Ur process has been the best by far and I’ve watch tons of videos on this. I tried one way but the dye clogged my cotton wick so I had to wick up. I guess I can do wooden wicks

Hi! Thank you so much! I use the 13OZ Calypso Jar from Glassnow.com (I added the link in the notes if you want to see which one exactly)! I definitely have to wick-up when I do this process. I noticed with my wooden wicks that I need to size up 1 to 2 sizes for it to get a good melt pool. Versus, no dye I can wick smaller. I have seen other companies successfully use cotton wicks for the marbling process, either sizing up, or double wicking (depending on the jar) should work fine. Good luck!

Can you please make a video about wet spots and frosting? I know it’s normal with soy wax but is it normal that half of the candle has a major wet spots on it?
@dripfromthecrypt5607
@dripfromthecrypt5607 Год назад
Hello! Yes! There can be several contributing reasons, however with my wax, I have had a lot of luck with cleaning my jars super good beforehand, and also going in with my heat gun to smooth out any air bubbles or frosting. For frosting with soy wax, I have noticed a big temperature change (say cool jar when pouring the hot wax) really impacts it, so maybe heating your jars first to try and minimize some frosting might work for you. But yes I will defiantly do a video on it soon!!

"Hi! May I ask how you came up with using the poker stick you showed in the video? Do you think a wooden nail stick would work or not?"

how do you clean the top sides from dye to give it a clean look finish please, thank you
@dripfromthecrypt5607
@dripfromthecrypt5607 Год назад
Hello! Yes so I will either use a clean cloth/paper towel and just wipe off any excess dye off the top of the jar. I don't use water or anything. For tough to reach spots, or if you're trying to be gentle, you can use Q-tips and wipe off the dye so you don't damage the top of the wax. If you DO damage the wax, you can still go back in with your heat gun to re-smooth out the surface of the candle again :) lightly though, so you don't mud out your cool swirly marbling on the top! :)

What did you use to get the dye off your granite counter top? Unfortunately dye got on mine and hydrogen peroxide isn't working.
@amandapittar9398
@amandapittar9398 Год назад
Baking powder and vinegar are worth a try? Granite is incredibly porous and the dye is incredibly strong! You need something to neutralise the dye. I would also try asking a dry cleaner or somewhere that sells granite worktops. Just a thought. 😊

How do you clean the die on the jar where you put in the pin?
@dripfromthecrypt5607
@dripfromthecrypt5607 Год назад
Hello! After I marble the candle and then it cures/dries again, I will take a clean napkin, Q-tip or towel and will gently wipe around the top of the jar for any excess dye. Is that the area you are referring too?

Can we do the melting job with a hair dryer?
@dripfromthecrypt5607
@dripfromthecrypt5607 Год назад
Hello! Yes! If your hair dryer will give off enough heat to melt the jar/wax, then it should be fine to give that a try :) it might just take a little while to melt the wax. if it works, great! If not, a heat gun gives off a lot more heat and will speed up the process. I got mine from Home Depot honestly for like 20$ and I use it ALL the time.
