Don't take this from me because I'm not Arab either, but apparently it's a head covering device utilized not just by the Arabians, but North/East Africans and Southeastern Asians as well to protect the wearer from the sand that blows in the desert and well as the sun. It's also used as simply an article of streetwear worn by men in the Middle East and North Africa(especially by people of Middle Eastern descent or western Muslims trying to adopt Arabian culture).
As long as you are aware of the history behind it, why they’re worn in other cultures, and you are respectful of that culture I don’t see it being a problem. In fact if you were to get a keffiyah specifically and made yourself aware of the significance of it, you would be seen as standing in solidarity with Palestine. An honorable gesture in the eyes of my Palestinian friends.

Dope video but i just wasted money on a scarf that was 42x42 in the comments and it was too square and short in my opinion. I would advice every to get a scarf that is not a complete square. I would recommend getting a scarf that has more length than width and would get longer/larger than 42in length wise. Hope that makes sense.

Have you tried ironing it? If you mean a thicker shemagh gives the bulkier look then you may have to wind the ropes in a tighter hold to make them appear thinner. Was this clear?
