I have tied this pattern in different colors and it is a killer. Simple fly that catches a ton of fish.

Why don’t you just use a bright thread instead of a black thread and then put a hot spot on later

Justin Kilpatrick, I honestly have so many it would be hard for me to pick one... LOL. the shade is something I change all the time depending on what bugs are in the river

the fly u tied im sure is a killer pattern but its pretty much a hotspot nymph pattern,,the walts worm is a cranefly imitation and is deadly anywhere,,loren added a hot spot to it and called it a sexy walts..tying it to resemble a cranefly larvae is only done in a cream color as thats the color of the real larvae..a cranefly pattern will not really have a tapered shape like a generic nymph pattern but a longer more uniform shape just like a real larvae..nice video and black is always a good choice on any underwater pattern..

termite122, I understand what a waltz worm is and the reasoning behind the original pattern and how to tie that 1 also. This is called a sexy waltz and I mostly use it for an attractor pattern or tease it out when the caddis are present. He was not trying to imitate a crane fly larvae. If he was it would look nothing like this as you know

sorry but your wrong..im friends with loren and have fished with him many times...all his sexy walts worm is a hot spot added to the the plain walts worm with a fly dk body ribbing...your video title says how to tie loren williams sexy walts worm unless im reading it wrong but its nothing like his pattern..he uses a hares mask for the body as that tannish cream color will imitate a cranefly larvae or a large caddis larvae or any kind of cream colored grub that mostly all trout will take as simply food..he fishes it blindly as an attractor as how else wouls you fish it other than just covering water like most nymph patterns...you fish your fly as an attractor or even a caddis pattern as you stated and thats great so you should just come up with your own name for your fly as its nothing like his pattern and it doesnt even use one material that is used in his other than a tungsten bead which his pattern uses a gold bead..thats simply my opinion
