Learn how to tie rabbit fur into a dubbing loop without any special tools other than a dubbing spinner. With a little practice, you can easily tie rabbit fur into dubbing loops for fly bodies, collars, heads and other effects.
This is a versatile way to use rabbit fur in flies without having the bulk of the rabbit leather.
Many of our favorite flies involve tying rabbit fur into dubbing loops and this tutorial should give you a good base of knowledge. This will help you tie some of the flies in our other videos with ease.

Noticed you do not use UV or head cement like many others use. I think I like your methods better.

Thank you so much Carl! I usually tie quick/fast flies that get used a bunch and basically destroyed. I will use Sally Hansen Hard as Nails polish on most flies for a bit more durability from time to time though. Thank you so much for watching and for the kind words :)

Hey smarty, why don't you use a clamp to catch the hairs with first and then cut away the leather before placing it in the dubbing loop? Far easier and smarter...🤔

Most folks getting started with Fly Tying don’t have access to a clamp so this is an excellent way to negotiate that tool deficiency

its called a zonker strip.Every fly tyer knows that spinning any hair with under fur in a dubbing loop almost never works. So when you put it into the further away from the leather the better.
