The Wooly Bugger might well be the first fly you ever tied or the Wooly Bugger might have claimed your first fish. One thing is for sure the Wooly Bugger in all its various guises wether used on Stillwaters or rivers is an undisputed fish taker.
The Wooly Bugger shown in this video sports a fairly hefty tungsten bead to add to the movement of the fly. Folks tie the Wooly Bugger in various colours with often different coloured beads. Its a great pattern to mess around with and your imagination is the only limit.

These still work. On the right day the brownies will hit one over the shuggie. Personally I also tie some on a standard short heavy hook so they without the bead still fit the gauge for comps. In black, white, olive, orange, pink, or claret. At least the Woolley Bugger or as over the pond Walt’s Worm look like a food item. Unlike that hope to never see again Dog Knobber. I used up all of my ole stock of them fly fishing for mackerel, garfish, and the odd Coley. Note the Woolley B will also work at dawn/ dusk

Hi Billy, Thanks I am currently using a LUMIX G80 with a 50mm LUMIX Macro Lens. Seriously considering upgrading the body to the LUMIX G5 Mk2 though.
