How to till your Pens and harvest your Snail eggs 

Tilling your pens is very important in snail rearing. You must do it at least once a week. This is the main work in heliculture or snail rearing.
Tilling is done for 2 purposes.
(1) It breaks the soil and allows looseness and aeration thereby allowing the snails to penetrate and burry their eggs when they lay.
Slime from snails tend to harden the soil. By tilling it repeatedly, it is loosened.
(2) Tilling allows you to remove the eggs carefully and place them in the incubator pen where it is guaranteed that most of them will hatch.
