Just used this info and now boiler is sorted thanks man! One thing I did notice is where you stick the key in if you look closely on the black plastic there is a picture of a closed padlock and an open padlock, no doubt to shut off the valve afterwards! 👍🏻
Thhhaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaanks so much for putting this up i had no hot water or heating for 2 days and then found this 10 mins later and its all back up and running if could buy you a pint i would :-).
Hello, thanks for your tutorial. One question, do you need to turn the boiler off completely from the switch before doing this? As in, no power running to it? Or can the boiler stay on, just no central heating on (heating switch off only)? Many thanks
No you can leave the power on to the boiler and yes once you are back up to pressure hold the reset button for a couple of seconds and it should restart. Thanks for watching
Legend! Really easy to follow tutorial! I do have a question though. The way I did it was : I turned it off from the mechanical clock then turned it off from the main switch, then refilled to 1.5bar and turned it back on from the main switch. Did I miss any steps?
Why to take the key out? If I leave it there after I fill the boiler will be fine?! As sometimes need to put more water to keep the pressure above the 1
Hey don't know if anyone can help but i did this and nothing just ended up with a river down the side of the house lol. Now here is the weird bit we have no hot water no heating, yet if we twist that little white square the water flows down the side of the house the radiators come on and we get hot water. Tighten it and everything goes off I've tried bleeding the radiators nothing. I've tried the key thing nothing
You’ve probably been asked this question but how would I turn the pressure down? I’m on 2.5 bar and I think the temp isn’t rising in the radiators because the bar is too high.
Hi yes that is a bit of a problem you will have to get a plumber to fit a filling loop to the boiler pipework then you can fill it up or possibly order a new key from amazon.
What do you do if you don't stop the pressure rising in time and it ends up in the red... how do you release the pressure?? ....asking for a friend... 👀😅
Legend! Thanks for the response... sadly it doesn't seem to have fixed it for "my friend" 😂 drained loads of water from the radiators and no joy, even turned the black screw valve that's to the right of the white square thing that is turned to pressurise the system, drained water from this as well as the radiator but no joy... turning the hot water on in the kitchen sink and flushing that for a few minutes drops the pressure down so that it touches the green section... but as soon as the hot water is turned off it jumps straight back to where it was in the red section of the pressure display... any other ideas would be greatly appreciated 🤞
@@MattCNixon you may need to take a far about of water out. Does the pressure stop going up or does it increase all the time? If it continues to climb you may have a passing valve have you taken the white key out and turned it all the way off?
@@MattCNixon Just press the red lever on the PRV valve at the back of the boiler to bring the pressure down to 1 Bar if you over filled it but you need to find the reason why the pressures dropped in the first place as its a sealed system so shouldn''t need to be topped up unless theres either a leak or the expansion vessels lost it's air which in turn causes the pressure to raise above 3 bar then dumps water out of the PRV so then the pressure will be below 1 bar when the boilers cooled down hence why it then needs topping up
Hi, I have exactly same worcester boiler as you, tried filling it yesterday , but the needle inside the pressure thing , isnt moving, Im afraid to leave it fill too much as you did" for a good while" just in case I overfill it. I tapped the thing a few times , Just tried filling it again, but cant hear no water filling it, just strange noises, now I am worried .
Hi yes they do get stuck from time to time. I wouldn't worry about overfilling the boiler if that does happen the boiler has a built in pressure relief valve in and it will discharge the pressure outside so nothing should happen. Just make sure all your radiators are full and everything should be ok. Thanks for watching.
@@primalrenovations7427 I had to ring my housing association today, they came out, and told me, I need a new pressure gage as its broken, but thankyou very much for the help .Merry Christmas to you
