I’m getting into the stock market this Friday! My mentor is some one I use to work with in 2014 since then he told me he haven’t had a day job since! He been telling me to save up and get in with him. Even if I have to sit next to him with my laptop and copy my his every move he said I will learn it. But now I’m serious because I’m literally getting tired of working for other people . So he told me go on RU-vid and learn all these technical analysis etc and I have been EVERYDAY! And your videos make is so easy so simple that I’m learning it faster. Thanks 🙏🏽
This Quarantine is basically a full test on the entire economy. Some businesses will not survive and some people will be extremely bankrupted. How do one cope these trying times?
The Businesses that will survive will be strong, with less competition, low interest rate and resurgent demand. Few profits are still been recorded trading from home.

@@skyviewtrading your last video was 9 months ago, so you kinda did leave haha, I started getting into options selling because of your videos, I did lose a lot though during this crash, I was selling put spreads on the spy, I had a 328 short put on the spy hahaha, I dont understand why your capital requirement is 800$ on sbux, shouldnt it be 100*55?
@@ShihabPersonalFinance We've just been spending our time creating content for our members and bettering our service rather than on youtube videos! Also, sorry to hear about your loss on SPY. Don't sweat it too much. This was a once in a generation kind of move and at least you survived! As for SBUX, the option requirements are just more favorable than stock margin requirements! But, even for stock, most brokerages only require 50% of the cost of the stock, so it would be 50*55. Hope that helps!
In order to buy a put option, do you have to own shares of the stock? I imagine you would in the event you exercise the contract, you would need shares to sell, no? So if I buy one put option, I must own 100 shares of the stock, correct?
Good video, do you have the account history to show the stock and option percentage in your profolio? Since if you have individual stocks, you account may drop 60% during crash if you did not purchase index. I would be very surprise to see 8000 more profit during cras time in anyone's account.
Hey! There's no easy way to defend a market crash. But with mechanics in place we can do our best to soften the blow and trade out of it in due time. For example, in 2022 members were up 1% 4 months into the year while the S&P 500 was down -12%. By the end of the year most members were up closer to 30% though! It's a 12 month game of percentage returns against the market!
Just this year! We switched for many reasons - better commissions, better for options trading (in our opinion), easier to use and navigate the platform, we like what they stand for, etc.
Thanks Adam.I have been getting crushed in the option market, partially because I haven’t learned the art of trade adjustments. I really need to become a member.
Eli - Good video. Thx. ? Why is the capital requirement for selling the put only ~$825.00 ? why isn't it closer to the capital req'd to purchase the underlying?
Good question! The margin requirement for options just provides more leverage. But, the margin requirement CAN fluctuate a bit as the underlying market moves around. If the stock falls towards the strike, the margin requirement can go up. For this reason, we never have 100% of our account balance tied up in trades, because you want to have some cushion for the fluctuating margin requirements. Hope that makes sense!

We have a few accounts but my main account is a healthy six figures. The bare minimum to start trading options is 2k, but we'd recommend around 5k to start. Make sure to start with paper trading so you can learn the ropes before starting with real money!
We as humans have a tendency to over-exaggerate our fears...so it means that fear will cause stocks to fall farther than they should. When you see headlines on every media about how terrible the world / economy / government is, that creates fear, and people sell. But did the value of these companies actually decrease a drastic amount? No, maybe a little...but not as much as the fear-based selling would have you believe...

How did you get such a good price for SBUX puts?! Right now its selling for around $1.63 for $62.5 strike price. Thats almost half of what it was when you bought it!
Yeah we recently switched from thinkorswim to tastyworks and have been really happy with them. Great product and great leadership team as well. Thanks for the comment and the sub!
The important thing to remember is the Corona virus did not cause the market to crash as the Corona virus was the pin that popped a bubble. The market deflated so quickly because of levels of debt and huge leverage which means when the market retest it's Feb 2020 highs it means the market is even less stable than the first time around. Most importantly BEWARE OF BONDS. Bonds offer for the first time in history a risk premium higher than stocks.
Joyce Koch coronavirus was just the catalyst, yes. We’ve seen years of extreme complacency in the market. If it wasn’t coronavirus, then it would have been something else, eventually. And we are watching bonds close as well. Do you feel bonds can be used as a forward-looking indicator during this trading environment?
@@skyviewtrading I like watching the 10 year bond. Stocks look to go higher from here unless we see another bond inversion. There is really no reason why these markets cannot do anything - a drop of 40% is just as possible as a 40% increase. The market is driven by sentiment, not math.
HI ..lets say stock price trading at 70$ and i sold 85$ put and bought 80 put.. can you explain what would be the profit scenario? Risk etc..is that i have a mild bullish scenario?
Hi I'm trying to register for your free course and I see your website showing a trading platform, can you please advise which trading platform is that? thanks.
In your Starbucks example where the dip does go beyond and you have to purchase at 55$ Do you actually have to cuff up 5500$ dollars to know own the shares??
@@skyviewtrading Haha, tell me about it. I recently tried to start an investing channel dedicated to short concise instructional videos and after few weeks got a little burned out because of how much work goes into these.
wouldn't It be better to sell call options in a declining market? I mean if the market is crashing, you have better odds of the contract expiring worthless if its a call
You are correct! Selling calls have higher probabilities of profit compared to buying puts. We are premium sellers and like to be on the sell side of options typically as well.
Appreciate the video. Simple explainations. What software are you using to make the illustrations for the video? I like it. Also what brokerage interface is that?
Is it possible to papertrade with your member's platform? I am asking as tastyworks unfortunately does not offer paper trading...and of course I do not want to train with real money.
