Sir simple solution is stoploss for intraday and hedge position compulsory for carryforward trade in fno segment and it will protct retail traders if that is the intent of sebi.Atleast retailers be allowed to trade in index with mandatory 2 percent stoploss.

sebi if really interested to curb volumes, it can easily do it by keeping 1 expiry of indexes , the whole volume is because of expiries daily, even by keeping expiry just on thurday for all indexes the volume will come down significantly, no need to increase the lot size

It will be more problem for small traders as they will not be able to sell options, they have to do only buy options with limited money they have. Also less revenues for exchanges and brokerages.

Delivery based traders will increase and can play the law of averages with their capital. Stcg will apply w.r.t taxation flat rates rather than business/speculative income which appears to be the prime motive of sebi .

Sebi should impose rules on FnO Like Trading accounts which are 5yrs+ old only should be allowed for FnO. so all the newbies influenced by Reels trader on social media will be out.

Hi sir I have one more doubt ?? Whether they will shrink option strike contracts? Eg if nifty at 24000 they will not allow to trade plus or minus 500 points;; say about 23500 to 24500? Second think is wkly one expiry for one exchange It means sensex o e expiry Other than that finnifty ,midcap ,etc One by one wkly??
Arun the number of strikes will reduce. The SEBI communication was fairly clear on this. That will be tough for out of the money traders. Lets keep our fingers crossed.

Our regulators are greedy of generating revenues for the government. Smaller quantities enable more no of transactions hence more charges..I believe these recommendations are just rumours as the government revenue will come down with these changes.

How does this new F&Q regime impact an option buyer with a capital of 15 lakhs. 1.Lot size increase which is fine. 2.Lesser expiries a month which is ok because there is better delta ,gamma and lesser theta on non expiry days.s 3.Lesser eventful days as there will be lesser expiries We evolve as better traders as we get better understanding of rules . But then what happens to BSE Options & Futures .BSE wanted to compete with NSE and they came up with Sensex and Bankex F&O. Let us wait and see.
The real problem is not going to arise from bigger lot size, which ofcourse will increase risk of 1 lot traders. The actual problem is going to come from abolishing strike prices. Now we have 24450 CE, 24400 CE and 24350 CE, but as per new suggestion, we will have only 24450 CE and 24350 CE, this will require bigger market moves to get into break even if a trade as gone against you, increasing the probability of losses of option buyers even higher. Now comming to increase in lot size, this will directly impact option sellers with 5 lakh capital, as now he will need 20 lakhs to sell same contract, so now he will be pushed towards option buying. With more buyers and institutional sellers, a percent Setup is designed to loot retail money as Indian market will be sideways in coming years due to coalition govt in center.

SEBI is trying to control gambling in stock market but it will not help because people will go to crypto and forex market. This will cause sudden outflow of money from system. First SEBI should stop weekly expiry of option.

Thanks for the video, got to know of incidence on vertical and horizontal spreads , overall lower liquidity it seems. Learning screen reading art is more helpful but what about swing traders the position sizing is going to be affected by margin requirement and lot size. The development has no silver lining. Will the premium increase for monthly options overall? Under the garb of deterring retail traders they have only managed to further hurt them as institutions and banks have liquidity backdoor that does not exist for retailers.

Ditto for traders who disclose their trades in real time. For example - if I tweet I went long on xyz company during market hours, SEBI can treat that as a hidden trading tip. As a dedicated full time proprietary trading outfit since 38 years, we are crystal clear we don't want to get involved with these hassles. Which is why we don't offer any paid services. Much as I would love to display our in-house statistical & behavioral technical analysis models' indicators and their accuracy in real time to our online family, we would like to steer clear of hassles. When small traders would be out of the FNO market . Your viewership in RU-vid also would drastically come down. Brokerage houses also would see many accounts withdrawals sebi would be happy with much much less volumes. Seasoned traders institutions and newly born crorepatis in sharemarket would have no change. I used to watch cnbc etc and followed you there many years back. Why would we share your videos then ? Lacs of people would lose interest in trading as there is no space for small fish section any more.

Sanjay my guess is they will move in quickly. The foreign high frequency traders (HFT) desks who want to come to India will need all the inverse ETFs, credit default swaps and long-short funds in place before they bring in money. The lot sizes will be tweaked before that happens. Whether its done in the budget or not, I have no clue.

Hi. In trading stock options, what happens to the trade if the options expires between the range on expiry? Suppose I create a strangle between Rs.400 and 500 and the stock expires at 440 at the end of the month, then I need to buy to close my trade. I may be closing on the day before market closes. But unlike index, since I m doing in real stock,I need to buy back what I sold, how my profitability will be calculated? Since premium becomes zero, I am in profit there like index, but I will be squaring of my position at 440( buying at 440 for both legs) . Whether the logic is same as index?

That time 3 months notice period was given so that near, mid and far month series expired before new lot sizes were brought in.
