Just a note. Had an “a-ha” moment watching your video 20 minute trader. Rules solved all my issues, 87% of them at least. I like to thank you a lot today because of your tips I followed over the weekend about My Space, My position on morning gaps, the important of 20MA and 200MA, The percentage 1/10, 2/10, 6/10 and 9/10, trade on the 25% = 9/10 and you know what? Just lost my portfolio due to my ego and emotions in trading as I'm a new trader. I think that tight disclosure rules like regulation FD have actually hurt retail investors and cause more big gaps. I have been hurt more than I have helped by holding even partial positions through earnings. I miss the days when there was "information leak"and you could join the insiders, so to speak, by following the price action.
For a slight gap up and going long, is there any way to know when you use the 50% gap retrace vs the 2 primary strategies you primarily mention here (power bar vs color bar)?
Always seems easy to take profits away from the 20ma after the fact. In real-time what looks like away from the 20 might not be that far in hindsight if the stock makes another leg higher. I totally agree with the concept but anybody who has traded for any length of time know that charts in real-time look completely different than the chart looks like at the end of the day.
