Hi Shawn! Not sure if you have done a video about how the travel nanny process works. I would be interested to know more about timing, cost, tipping and when the decision to pick up versus having the puppy be delivered needs to be made. Thanks Jim

Hi Jim, I have included that info in some videos when we are delivering a puppy with a flight nanny. For people who are open to it my husband (who is also named Jim) will also fly with a puppy to take it to its new home. Flight nannies often work for airlines and have to fly stand by. They charge based on how long it takes to get the puppy from the starting airport to the new home airport. In other words I take the puppy to PHL airport and the flight nanny meets me there. The flight nanny carries the puppy on the flight/s and hand delivers to you (new family) at your home airport. When my husband (Jim) delivers he will bring the puppy to your home if you'd like - he has driven puppies as well as flown with them and because they know him so well it is an easy transition for them. In a few weeks he will be taking Jelly to Alaska and then Hanna and Hailey to California. Another thing to be aware of is the flight nannies who work for airlines are using their status to fly free / standby and thus they often don't get on the first flight they planned to take if something happens and they get bumped. I've had that happen when I dropped a puppy to a flight nanny in Philadelphia and then several hours later get a call that I have to go back to PHL airport to pick up the puppy because the flight nanny did not get out on the planned flight and they will have to figure out another date. That is heart breaking - doesn't happen often but need to know it does happen for flight nannies using standby status to transport the puppy.

I am so glad I came across your videos! Makes it easier for me on what to show my puppy first. What do I do when my 8 week puppy is crying and howling while in her crate? Let her or take her out? I want her to get used to it.

Hello Catherine, thank you for watching. My recommendation is to start the playlist: How to Socialize and Train a NEW Puppy from 8 - 16 weeks and watch from Day 1 in order. Do each step with your puppy even though he is already 15 weeks old and has possibly learned some of the things I teach. There is a sequence that is layering and will help your dog learn more complex skills. Thank you for your question!

@@svccschnauzers today I have done 3 training sessions which he did much better than expected. I have never been able to get him to go down which he did straightaway and he was much calmer with treats. Normally he’s too excited with treats. He really loved it and so did I. I have ordered the same bed as you which is coming tomorrow. Can’t wait 🐶

For an 8 week old puppy a 3 - 5 minute training session several times each day is great. As the puppy grows and learns to concentrate these sessions can be longer. The puppy will cue you when they have lost the ability to concentrate. As you watch more of my videos you will see this and learn how to read these cues. Also you will see my older dogs who can work for an hour doing complex stays and recalls while other dogs are having their sessions (that takes great concentration and you build up to that over time.). Watch the videos with Redee if you want to see an example of where you are headed as a goal but it will take months of daily training to get Percy where you want him to be 😊 I'm excited to be on this journey with you!

@@svccschnauzers I’m amazed at the bad ingredients in treats. I read the ingredients on a bag of chew bones (front said healthy alternative to raw hide) and on a bag of treats and they were horrible! We grow a lot of vegetables. I told my husband I’m going to experiment with making my own. At the very least, she can have fresh carrots and dehydrated sweet potato slices.
