I have a basset hound puppy and he barks for everything!! when its time to eat he barks and barks and barks! Hes so wild, your puppy caught on so quickly i was there waiting for him to stop barking and stay for 40 min before he stayed for a few sec before i put his food down. Im going crazy! I tried looking for a video how to make your dog wait for food and all i got was dogs that were already trained, i wanted to see what it looked like in the beginning and how it would look like after a few try’s and you gave me exactly what i was looking for!!! 8:15 You made a mistake there. Buddy broke position and you repeated the command. The proper behaviour (yours) would be take him back to his original position on the original place without saying anything or giving away any feeling that you are dissatisfied with him. You taught him, that if he is disobedient you will just repeat the command and there will be no consequences. But otherwise a very good guide how to teach a dog behave. My dog never behaved like this so I didn’t have to bother with this. He always sits and waits till I give him command to go eat. Even if I leave the room without giving him the command, he won’t start eating. He learned that after the first time I made him wait for the food.

Awww I always loved hearing my fur babies being excited when it was time to eat LOL Before my 14 1/2 year old fur baby passed (had her since she was 11 weeks old) she didn't want to eat. I really missed her telling me she was hungry. She was well trained just not at meal time LOL If only we could teach some humans to not talk so much LOL How old is Buddy now?
