A demonstration on how to properly walk your dog and some suggestions on how to correct unwanted behavior. A walk done properly should drain mental and physical energy, not add to it by allowing the dog to walk excitedly in front of you.
As a former puppy k and basic obedience instructor I was sickened. Never put a choke collar on a puppy never. With a happy attitude and lots of praise a dog wants to please you. Also using one cheerio, yes just one in your left hand by your side so the little pup can smell it, along with the command, even the most rambunctious puppy will walk by your side in class and praise the heck out of that pup. This video is an abomination.
lifting a dog off it's feet with a leash and collar is a collapsed trachea waiting to happen. (3:36 very bad), Do you want your dog to die of asphyxiation due to a collapsed trachea (collapsed windpipe)?
I just watched this video again and was just as horrified as I was the first time. You don't need a choke collar to train a dog. A soft leash and a calm demeanor will make the dog want to be with you without fear. There is no need to MAKE a dog to do what you want, but make the dog WANT to do what you are asking. Dogs are not possessions you don't need to force them to do things by tugging at their collar.
dont know too much about training a dog, but i got the same feeling. not everything she did was horrible tho personally dont like the placement of the collar either... it might be "the correct way" but it doesnt sit right with me. i own horses and i do train em and you can ride with a cordeo (rope around its neck) but it should ALWAYS be placed at the bottom of its neck just over the shoulder, because if its sitting higher up you can damage the windpipe and choke your horse.
NO! just no. I have in excess of 30 years experience in Dog training and there is quite a lot of mis information and downright dog dangerous, bad human behavior in this clip.
Watching the video, I was thinking almost all of this information (including corrections) are the complete opposite of what the trainer told my group, just yesterday. Water bottles, choke collars, etc. none of it should be used.
Do not yank a dog with a lead , you’re saying doing this doesn’t hurt your back or shoulders, it hurts the dogs though . NEVER. Lift them if the ground or show what a choke chain does 😡 owning one myself I should know
The choke chain is only for corrections it’s a short light tug otherwise it’s a lose chain no tension on the neck as shown and then rewarded for good behavior positive reinforcement dose work but they will only do commands if you have a treat or whatever reward that dog likes best a small correction like this is not harsh at all
great video. we train German shephards for service work for my girlfriend. stubborn headed dogs need a physical correction. especially for service work. if you use treats or praise only the animal has no respect for you. if you dont have a treat in your hand, good luck on getting them to follow your command. when youre in the store and my girlfriend has a ptsd attack and cant focus on getting a treat out, her dog has respect for her and listens every time with or without a treat. hate people calling you evil for using a choke chain. but when your dog needs to perform a task on point every single time its needed. why do you think police dogs use prong collars?
OH MY GOD... everything you said is wrong!... 1.if the dog is not listening then you/someone else trained he/she wrong. 2.you also need a sevice dog that's actualy up to the task 3.if the dog cant do the task......you need a different dog! 4.police using prong collars!?......people think its 'training'or something but its animal abuse! also i have not seen any police use prong collars conclusion......your wrong.

why would you get a dog and not train it in a positive manner. Training any animal or human in a negative fashion does not benefit the animal or the human companion. you would just be setting yourself up for issues later on.
