How To Transfer A Picture To Wood
⭐️Updated Video • How To transfer A Pict... ⭐️
When I first uploaded this video I had to disable comments after 170,000 views due to so many people telling me I said Mod Podge wrong you can only imagine how over whelming it became I also had so many rude mean comments from people that are just looking to cause pain and hurt. My amazing subscribers were defending me and got the backlash I could not allow it any further.
Now let's jump to 2020 and over 2 Million views I still get tons of positive emails and facebook messages over this video people apologizing for others actions and tons of questions. So I'm ready to see comments again I hope you find this video helpful and please feel free to ask question.
Thank you to everyone that has watched this video! And thank you to everyone that has sent so many positive emails and messages along the way :)

1. When doing this, make sure you reverse (mirror) the image before printing since it will be reversed when you apply it to the wood. (Reflect is usually the transform tool.) 2. Printers don't print "white" so whatever color the wood is will show through onto the white areas. So this works best with light colors of wood. 3. Deep knots or irregularities should be filled with wood filler then sanded. 4. If you apply a Photoshop artistic filter (like brush strokes) then you can use the top layer of Mod Podge to sort of match the brush strokes in the photo. This will give it a bit of a hand-painted look.

Thank you so much for this. I was totally convinced I had to buy a bunch of fusion products and an iron to get a decent transfer. I already own the modge podge and now I feel confident because of your video that I can do this! Thank you so much for taking something that is so difficult for me and making it seem possible. This is the first time I ever watched one of your videos and I am now subscribed and can't wait for the next one. Thanks again

This is amazing! My mom didn't want us to buy any presents this year. She said that with everything going on, she didn't want my brother and I spending any extra money, so she's always talked about this method, and I thought I'd print out my favorite pictures of my brother, Mom, and I and make a couple of these. Having her explain it was one thing, but of all the videos I watched so that I could actually see it being done, this one was my favorite! I LOVE the addition of the vinyl and staining the wood gave it a little something extra. Mine are drying right now and I hope I can get as flawless a finished product as you did, lol. Great job! Now I want to experiment even more!

There were people treating you so poorly you had to disable comments!!??? That’s just people who only feel better about themselves by belittling others!🤯I’m glad you’ve been able to get into the headspace to repost and ignore all mean things people say/said. Personally, I don’t understand the reason for the negativity for the piece. It turned out SO AWESOME!💛💛💛💛

Absolutely amazing!! Is the equipment to do these venyls a big investment? I love the look and see myself creating gorgeous presents but if you need to spend hundreds of $ it makes prolly no sense as a hobby crafter.

This was GREAT. Very clear and concise. And the end product is sterling. Thanks for keeping the comments up. I think it important on this kind of video so people can discuss the whys and wherefores - it adds to it... I know mean comments can be hurtful but you CANNOT take it personally (I know thats easy for me to say) but look at how Jimmy Kimmel handles it you have to just laugh at these people. What you'll find is people who say vicious things, especially on a video about arts and crafts, have normally got something else going on in their lives making them unhappy. I just feel sorry for these folks. I dunno if you said Mod Podge correctly - who care :-) its just a glue. The funny thing about pronunciation is, as long as people know what you mean, it REALLY doesn't matter. Again, this is easy for me to say, don't focus on the 2k people who for some silly reason decided they didn't like the video enough to actually click a thumbs down 49,000 people liked the video enough to give it a thumbs up thats OVER 95%. A video about kittens still gets disliked on this platform. This video is fan-bloody-tastic. You are really good at these videos. AND You are a wonderful person for sharing this with the world. Stay strong and remember THE WORLD IS A MUCH BETTER PLACE FOR YOU BEING IN IT AND YOU ARE LOVED. xxx

If you wanted to keep the correct perspective you could reverse image print it so the process would then come out in the correct image.

Question please: What kind of paper did you use for the picture? Just regular white copy paper or was it a photo paper? This was amazing and so very unique!

Thanks so much for the video. Also, I must say I LOVE the picture you used. How stunning. I love all things western and southwestern. The pic itself is worthy of accolades on it's own. Very nice transferred onto the wood. Love it!

Love the tutorial. My question is: I don't have picture (physical Photo's, but photos that I have saved on my computer) can I print these pictures and use them? I do have an ink jet printer. TIA

Paper tip* If you have a LaserJet printer...get some self stick label paper. Peel the label part off first and print on the shiny side of the backing paper. Then after you do the Mod Podge step and it dries, you can basically peel it right off. No water, no rubbing, no mess. I believe they also make special transfer paper, but the labels are easier to find.

actually I just saw another vid where they printed with an inkjet printer....and put it on the wood while it was still wet ..NO MOD PODGE...and peeled the paper off after only a few minutes. BUT you might have to mess with the lightness/darkness of the image OR the density in your printer settings so you don't get TOO MUCH ink on the paper.

Hi, I'm really interested in trying this for myself. I noted that you transferred vinyl. This is a technique I've not seen before - how did you create the vinyl?
