Hello, is a “yes and no” option always an ordinal scale?

actually speaking yes and no does not have any order. therefore, ideally, it is nominal but some researchers take them as an ordinal scale saying that yes is a higher-order and no is lower order.

I'm not done with the video but I did notice for the "yes" or "no" question you chose values 1 and 2 but in the variable chart they were assigned 0 for no and 1 for yes. Was this intentional or was it an oversight? Thank you again. I really appreciate this video.

the values of yes and no are indicative. you can select any values based on your convenience. This will have an impact on the interpretation of results.

For open ended questions we need qualitative analysis. For that you have to develop a list of keywords with allotted points.

Thank you for this video. I am doing a thesis on the effects of integrating faith and psychotherapy in enhancement of marital satisfaction among health care workers in a specific hospital. I am using 2 survey Likert instruments and the healthcare workers are answering both Questionnaires. How can I analyze this data from both questionnaires in SPSS to give me a single result?

Dear Lydiah, first of all, decide on your DVs and IDVs. Based on that decide the objectives. now the objectives will determine the methodology of analysis. I hope this answers your question.

The another shortcut method is to do it in Excell file and than import it is SPSS. In this way if u change one variable then it will reflect in the final variable that has been computed. I hope this answers your question.

You can collect all the responses in excel and then you can import them into SPSS file. Secondly, you can directly create the spss sheet. You can opt for the convenient way you like. Good Luck. Keep researching.
