Video was better than what Apple or Verizon provided - upgraded from an 8 to a 12 mini - additionally there were great suggestions for iCloud backup as well - the video was a 10/10

just a FYI for ppl like me who use a Beta Profile and have iOS 14.4 Betas or whatever (any beta actually, in case someone reads this in the future): if you are restoring a backup from a phone that is running a beta iOS firmaware, u need to update to that Beta iOS firmware on the new device first. so, i recommend the simplest way (also the most old fashioned) is to save a hard copy backup to ur computer, then set up the new one asa new device, then install ur beta profile on it and update. when done, go and restore the backup to it. there u go. its most likely not a fast process but it works.
I m upgrading from iphone 5s to 12 . I just want to kbow whether the ui will totally copied . I mean iphone 5s has such bad ui and also it has ios12 . I want to share only contacts and photos not ui.! I want to use iphone 12 original ui
I'm upgrading from Galaxy Note 8. I got it 3 years ago brand new and I've always had iPhones since they came out. I decided for a change and I loved it for awhile, but of course I had to come back to iPhone. Their ecosystem is so much better and exclusive.
Upgraded from 7 plus to 12 Pro Max 😭🤬🤯 🥳 After 2 days of videos, reading, calling apple, carriers and 30+ attempts. Finally!! In a video I watched on transferring data thru computer ( mines dead ) watched anyway. It mentioned both phones had to have same software update. What did I have to lose?! My 7 was updated but the 12 wasn’t. So I did new phone setup, updated software, then general- reset-erase all content and settings. Then followed your video and oh happy day 3. I plan to get the 12 pro max from an XS Max. I record acoustic songs straight to my XS Max and upload direct to my YT channel so I’m excited to see what improvements ill get in terms of picture and sound quality!

Upgrading from my 8 plus to the 12 pro. Would’ve waited another year if only my charging port wasn’t dead and my battery was still good. Hoping the 12 pro will last me 4 years minimum without any major problems.
I noticed that you didn’t have messages toggle on in your iCloud settings then later on you mentioned your messages being backed up. I recently went from 11 pro max to 12 pro max and when the women at Verizon set my phone up it took all 2163 unread text and marked them as read. 😩 one thing I noticed was she did a manual restore from an iCloud backup and the messages toggle was enabled.
I thought the new iPhone 12 should have a bigger display area but looking at the video, seems like the older IP7 is able to display more text than the new IP12 especially in the messaging app. I can read more words in the message preview on the IP7 comparing to the 12. This is so weird.....
Is there a way where we can do a data switch between two phones that are being traded ? Like for example trading with a sibling. We don't want our phone data to erase we would just like to basically switch devices
I’m confused... why wouldn’t you just turn the new phone on and then set up from your latest back up? Are there speed advantages to this way in your video? Also does google authenticator work after this transfer process?

I did the first bit, the ting popped up on my old phone I scanned it, but the it asks me what I want to do and it keeps on going in a loop or doesn’t work. I tried the manual setup for iCloud, but it won’t let me use my most recent iCloud backup. It just won’t let me click it

Why is it, I ask, that people performing an excellent service, such as this fellow demoing how to upgrade a phone, have to talk so quickly? For those of us--and I'm just a regular guy, so I'm sure that there are at least a few other people out there who feel the same way I do--who aren't confident even about relatively simple operations like upgrading a phone, slowing down just a bit can reduce our stress level and help us succeed in the operation (and not have to make humiliating "Can you help me?" calls to friends or family members.) I hv iPhone X 256gb (180gb used) battery health 58%. Working perfectly. Today bought iPhone 14 pro 256gb. Started data transfer. Till scanning image it was perfect. But after that, old phone come back to Home Screen. Tried 7-8 times. Same error. What’s the solution.
