This worked. I tried to rename the files on my HTC one m8 (by removing the temp) and it worked straight away! It changed my file type without me having to go on the computer! Thanks😃

The process is much simpler, plug your device up to your laptop by usb cord, choose media transfer. on your computer go to my pc or computer then find the icon for your cellphone or tablet, go to internal then find the show box folder, there are two one also says showbox logs. the movies could be in either folder, just highlight them and drag them over to your desktop on your computer
No need to remove card. You can remove the .temp using ES File Explorer....or better still you don't have to remove it at all! Using a file explorer select the file and it ask how you want to open it i.e a video, pic etc. Select video and it asks what app to use.

FYI you do not need to remove SD card and inserted into the computer to change the file type from temporary to mp4. Use this app to change the file type. goo.gl/32P297 Once you have downloaded the app go to the show box folder and rename the temporary file. Once you have selected rename delete ".temp" Now you can engoy your movie.
I was able to rename the file, delete temp, and it says .mp4 at the end but the movie still won't play. I am so bummed! I have been trying to get this movie on Showbox for over a week!
Ok so i moved a movie without issue and renamed it removing the .temp at the end but i can't play it. The icon even changed to the icon used for mp4's. any idea?
Most phones won't let you rename but usually those are the older phones in any case download es file explorer best on the play market right now and you can rename files straight from phone

So I tested this out and did exactly what you did but it still didn't work. Then I tried what some of these other users recommended and downloaded ES explorer to delete (Temp) and that worked but the video still didn't play once I transferred it to the SD card. I'm using the Note 4 with a 128 SD card. Help please.
i did every thing you said but i got this message Windows Media Player cannot play the file. The Player might not support the file type or might not support the codec that was used to compress the file. how can i fix this so i can watch movie on my laptop?

Don't wanna remove the as card fine ..download es file explore Now go to file and hold the file and click on more and select open file with "video" and if you have vlc or MX player use that. No need to remove SD card.
there is no way to change the download path.. you have to do it manually it sucks but its what i have been doing. i freed up 5gs of mem on my phone and just transfer over to sd when it gets full. as for this simple solution to just rename the file i hope it works

You can remove the TEMP label on your phone easily enough. You don't need to transfer the file to your computer. Here's how...Download ES FILE MANAGER FILE EXPLORER from the playstore. That will turn your phone into a kind of computer mode. Open it, long press on the file and RENAME. Remove the temp label and the file will play just fine. Good Luck!

Hi mate, been searching for a way to do this for soooo long lol, I have a Samsung S3 tablet on Kit Kat 4.4.2, I can transfer files from Cartoon HD to extSD, add them to hard drive and watch when I want but, showbox files are always unable to play, I've tried drag n drop, move through file manager and other file explorer apps, but they all fail, I've created a folder named movies on extSD, my files don't have temp and transfer fine, just don't play?? Any advice?

once it is downloaded from shoebox I can watch the movie through the app or on a player app, once its moved to ext SD card its unable to play, so the movie is a good download its the moving of the file that is making it corrupt in some way, I moved 6 movies from cartoonhd to my hardrive and 3 from shoebox, connected to my reply through USB and none of the movies from shoebox worked, this is the same if I transfer to extsd on tablet and try to play from there? thanks for the reply and have subscribed already thanks

I have an LG Tribute with a 16 Gb sd card but only about 2Gb in the phone itself. I can't get on a computer and don't really know how to figure this out. It would be great if someone could explain this to me. Thanks!
If you do it this way you cant open the movie from showbox anymore, and if you want to ise subtitles opening it from showbox is necessary. Any solutions?
Showbox recently added a subtitle option. But if you want to use the subtitle you have to do it from the showbox app. If you move the file you cant use the subtitle anymore. I was thinking to change the download location of showbox but I dont now how to do that. Or just moving the whole app to the sd card, but apparently moving the whole showbox app isnt possible. Any solutions?

the thing is some phone you can't rename on the phone like my note edge. my other phone I can change it. I'm here to help those people who can't rename it on their phone.
You can not use application manager by the way. Easy way to move is connect a mini port cable to female USB Amazon $5.00 connect any USB drive and copy to it faster and simple I watch hundreds of movies from SB to a stack of 128 gig SAMS $39.95 drives.

This is basic knowledge lol What I need to know is can you make the ext sdcard the default download location? Otherwise gotta do a few at a time n I'd prefer to leave it on over night.
Unfortunately no. Kitkat software doesnt allow storage location select. There are many people trying to get showbox to add the selection to the app. I have read that you can move the app itself to the sd card and then everything will be saved there after that but it didnt give me the option to move the app. It was greyed out under application manager.
i use filebrowser on the crappy item i got off ebay. thanks so much. i cut off local mem and paste to use a: drive. main problem of all android devices, no saved swap file/virtual memory. normally needs 500mb. if ur mem is below this, u will have problems.

go to the play store and download a file manager because the one that the phone has won't do I have the s6 edge so I know but once you do that enter the downloaded file manager go to device look for showbox and once your in there and able to see you movie files press and hold the file then look for a button that will pop up more options and once you find it click rename and just delete the .temp on the name make sure to delete the (.) next to temp so it can work and there you got your movies you downloaded hope it helps
what you do is watch my video and see the easy way to fix temp files and move files.. pulling your sd card pulling the back off your phone this is all just crazy talk..there is no need at all to do that

Pulling your sd is a lot its dumb and some phones dont have sds which sucks.. just plug your phone to a computer and pull files over from phone to computer its all drag and drop easy easy check my channel see my latest vid i show it step bye step

You should be able to do so straight from device try downloading es file explorer after moving files to sd card long select movies individually and rename should be on the bottom bar if not hit the menu
