Grandfather always told me to take a mallet and tamp the forms to get the "pitting" out after pouring. It releases a lot of the air trapped from pouring the concrete and minimizes the pits in the final product.

Make sure to use a concrete vibrator, or even just tap the sides of your boards a bunch as you put the concrete in to settle it and it will get those air bubbles out.

That pitting is bc your concrete wasn’t wet enough to begin with, or just dried to quick before you got it poured.

Im going to have to convert my 2 and a half garage into a home for financial reasons i think this is my best options and later when i get more cash i can build a new garage

I really think it is the best way to gain space, if you think about how the market would value your home they might say 40k value for a garage but finished sf is worth way more!

It would really depend on the height, cost and how level your slab is i guess. bunch of factors

How far down does the garage concrete slab go? Want to do the exact same thing but don’t know how thick the garage slab is, the house foundation is about 4 inches above

I’m not sure how thick the foundation is but I would assume it has frost walls appropriate for NH

Did you needed any permit to close the garage ?

Yes, there was a permit. Inspections were required for the addition of the windows framing, plumbing for the bathroom we added and the electrical. Then a final inspection obviously since they’re going to change the taxable value on the residence.

It's still could you did not attach that to the floor you kidding me that's a lot of weight nah it's not much weight but you should attach it to the floor
