We had FREE TRANSIT in Shanghai, China for 24 hours in April 2024 while flying to Paris from Osaka, Japan. We have Indian Passports and we were eligible for visa free transit for 24 hours. In this video, we show you how we got this visa free transit in Shanghai, China.

Now some countries such as European Union nationals have visa free entry privileges too in China.

Thanks for the nice video. I am an Indian national working in Germany and planning to go from Munich to Bangkok via Beijing both ways with around 8 hours layover. Do I need to buy any visa or fill out anything in advance? Thanks 😊

@@SG-yb5tz No, you don’t need to buy any visa at all. It will be transit without visa. They’ll give you a landing card to fill on board, even when you’re in transit. Just fill that and you’ll be fine.

Hi. May i know what is the minimum lay over time required to get a 24 hr transit visa? I do have a 8 hr 15 min lay over in beijing and if so, will i be eligible for a 24 hr transit visa? Also, if i plan to stay in the beijing airport itself for the whole duration of 8 hr and 15 minutes, do i need to apply for any transit visa? My arrival terminal in Beijing and the departing terminal from Beijing to a third country is the same. Kindly reply.

@@rejinasharaf if it’s the same PNR, then transit visa is not required If you are leaving the airport and you don’t have the same pnr, then it’s essential However we suggest to check their online portal for any changes during this time.

Do they provide this visa free facility if incoming and outgoing flights are of different airlines and different PNRs ?

Yes they do! You will have to convince the check in staff at your origin airport that you wish to get this visa free transit in Shanghai/China. As long as they let you board, it is fine. From Chinese immigration perspective, it is allowed.

This is old .They give 48 hours visa for almost everyone

"Almost". Not "everyone" :) For some nationalities it is only 24 hours transit without visa :)
