I used to do a lot of transporting, especially through roads, most I transported through roads to my HO at one point was 70m. Just came back to Albion recently and it's no joke when you say 20 gankers will pop out of no-where. I've only died once transporting because I got cocky and tabbed out of the game for a few seconds (didn't see any scouts beforehand). I once had an experience of going past a scouted roads portal because I was desperate to get my items to Carleon and every entrance to carleon was camped with scouts. Needless to say, once I exited the roads portal, about 15 gankers came to chase me on my grizzly. Lucky for me they were pretty inexperienced and I used certain bait tactics like pretending to zone through and turning back last second. In the end they only landed 1 hit on my grizzly bear. Scouts are no joke though, if you think the most you'll see is 8 gankers you are heavily mistaken. Also a little FYI. The reason people use elite boar over other mounts is because the Q is good against that ability that chains your mount back towards the gankers (I think graveguard armour?), it's also set to Q as opposed to spectral Boar's R. It also has passive carry weight. This means if you get dismounted you only lose the ability to use your Q, usually the least important skill and can still escape without being overweight. Coming from someone who used to do faction heart transports back when it was full loot dropped on death, I've managed to escape whole guilds while being dismounted, I baited them into a nearby castle and used my invis to de-aggro enemies. I ended up living with probably 30-40 people chasing me. If you play smart, even while being dismounted you can escape experienced gankers.
I also recommend you to get a scout yourself when transporting i got one it was little tedious to use but first time inuse it i got saved by a gankngroup of 8 people in mardle
is it just me, i usually go left or right then when i am out of the scouts view and name disappears i change directions. shiftshadow i always go left till scout name is gone then i go right and hug the riverbank all the way to the top before i cross.
Any chance you can show a more budget friendly armor set to use that also works for BM transports? That gear set is expensive for someone just starting out.
As a long time transporter myself 1 of the tricks I do is transport items 15 mins before and and after maintenance break, usually in those times probably 90% of gankers are offline, so just ready your yourself near a yellow zone to enter the red to transport.
I guess the best way to thwart gankers would just be to educate everyone on how to avoid them. They will mostly die out naturally after wasting their time on useless endeavours. No need for banning or anything. In the real world, there are some very powerful people not even the government or the people can touch or smite. The world is cruel, but it's also beautiful and fair in its own way. Learning to play the game would be better.
They should just make you invisible from yellow zone to red zone for like 30 sec to bypass the scouts or even 15 20 sec but only going from yellow to red zone
Great guide, i m definetely playing to do some economy/Hauling business on EU server. A question regarding mounts: What do you think about the Martlock faction Ram mount in terms of transporting? It seems to me to be somewhat between T4 and T5 ox but like significantly faster (with less weight). What do you think about that T5 ram mount in general? If you find time to answer...same question for the Polar Bear from Fort sterling :)
I quite dont like this mount... It doesnt have weight passive and just has +500kg compared to boar. If you get dismounted, you will not be able to escape due to weight. If i want a weight mount, i would use a bear that is way more tankier than goat to no get dismounted. Even the goat skill will let you get CC'd when charging, so is useless against gankers.
boar can get dismounted by 1 player. ram it takes about 4 minimum. but everyone is free to use their preference. I used all 3 months and the ram is the one i prefer the most. its ability is broken
my guy pls let me buy u a windows license just so I don't have to look at that watermark anymore lol. Also fantastic guide, refreshing to hear a high level player saying "if u see reds just turn around immediately"
Thank you bro awesome video. after watching this I used this with Bear and got over confident, did many runs without problem but one time when I entered Deadvein Gully, there are 12 reds behind the gate waiting for my juicy ass. I got annihilated but learned a precious lesson. Always use scouts one zone away ;)
Can u give me ur insight of what would you do if you enter a gate and see 12 reds behind the door? what was the best reaction to this? If I trashed my items while I have shield then I zone out and they kill me, did my trash item respawn after I die? Because I trashed them in another zone. thank you in advance
trashing doesnt do anything except lower weight as gankers will still get items. but if the gankers didnt spot you on portal the second you zone out. then you turn around and go back home. if they see you then a chase will begin. u have a decision to make then. try to push trough them by going to caerleon. or initiating chase in the roads which is probs the better play since 12 of them wont be able to all zone in at once in the road
If gankers put as much energy as they do ganking to actually farm, do roads chests, and market flip they could all be rich. Instead they pick the path of most resistance making scraps.
That isn't true. A guy in my old guild was part of a ganking group that specialized in transport ganking-- they made billions. He showed me chests with all the loot they got ganking on livestream. I used to buy ganked gear from him at a discount and transported it to the Blk Market. Ganking is an excellent form of econ for skilled and organized groups like his.
@@PotatoGunCamper occasionally I meet psychopaths that are legitimately good at their trade such as yourself. It's cool to see and even makes me starstruck. But these cases are few and far between. I can count on 1 hand the respectable gankers I've met.
@@dimaknopf Well one thing you do is 'ad hom' and assign labels without sufficient data. I did not say I was a part of their ganking group, I said that a guild member and his ganking group make billions and I bought gear from them at a discount to transport to BM. Reading comprehension PLEASE. Also, you are practicing both willful ignorance and resting in your myopic thinking: You are judging phenomenon that involves thousands of people w/ your personal experience. Sample size? The truth in Albion is that ganking leads to tons of eco for groups and solo players who are at least average at it. Just because you do not like gankers doesn't mean that ganking isn't a source of good eco and a +EV activity. If anything on the NA server in the BZ, ganking is harder because of so few players during off timer. BZ is fairly empty these days with the Euro Exodus. Be well.
@@dimaknopf Also, here is something to refute your BELIEF about the competency of psychopaths: A nice little book on the topic in audiobook format called "The Wisdom of Psychopaths" ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-JozPiZj2ZpE.html Research Dark Triad as well.
@@PotatoGunCamper @PotatoGunCamper @PotatoGunCamper reading from what you say makes me respect you more regardless what you say ya you may hate me but give me a damn second. Sample size is general Albion population. You're biggest mistake was assuming you knew friends that thought the same as you.
man don't spread hate on others :( even if u don't like them. Benji does his own thing and i respect him for it. people can disagree and still be respectful. but ty for liking my content
