How to Travel From Bangkok to Pattaya By Bus 

This short video outlines how to travel from Bangkok to Pattaya by bus. This is an easy trip to make.
1. Start by taking the BTS Skytrain to the Ekkamai station.
2. Walk to the Ekkamai bus terminal. The terminal is about a 10 minute walk from the BTS stop.
3. Buy your bus ticket. You'll see a counter marked 'Pattaya.' The ticket costs 131 baht. You do not need to buy a ticket in advance for this trip.
4. Wait for your bus. Your bus time, bus number, and seat number will be printed on your ticket. Buses to Pattaya depart every 20-40 minutes.
5. Board the bus. Buses start boarding about 10 minutes before departure. If you have luggage, leave it with the luggage handler. If your luggage is large, you'll have to pay an extra 20 baht.
6. Find your seat. Your seat number is on your ticket. Seats are assigned.
7. Enjoy the ride. The bus ride from Bangkok to Pattaya takes around 2 and a half hours. The bus is air-conditioned and the seats recline.
8. The bus will drop you off at the Pattaya Northern Bus Terminal. From there, you can take a songathew (shared pickup truck taxi), taxi, or motorcycle taxi to your hotel in Pattaya. The songathew costs 50 baht. A motorcycle taxi costs around 80-100 baht.
To travel back to Bangkok, take a songathew, taxi, or motorcycle taxi back to the Northern bus station in Pattaya and buy a ticket to Ekkamai, Bangkok. The ticket costs the same 131 baht.
