Honestly, it depends on your preference. Some people prefer airbnb, because you get lots of space and that "local living" feel. Others-hotels, because you get to enjoy different services and amenities. You can find good deals for both, so this one is completely up to you.
Ciao Anistasia, thank you for your great RU-vid clips. I’m coming to Rome in August. Can you please tell me the name of the taxi company again I can’t seem to find the video clip. Was it follow me? Really looking forward to your reply. Sending you a big kiss and hug from Melbourne Australia Julia 😊
Hi Julie! How exciting! You can find tons of free content on my RU-vid channel that will help you with planning. If you need specific recommendations or a help with your itinerary, please feel free to schedule a consultation session with me: stayfabulousbyag@gmail.com
Hi, thanks for your video. It was very informative! I will be cruising on the mediterranean in Oct/Nov this year 2023. So if I want tax free , can this be done at the cruise port? Will be stopping at Rome and Naples. Thanks
In Rome, on the first Sunday of every month most cultural sites are free. Also, places like Trevi Fountain, Pantheon, Villa Borghese (excluding Borghese Gallery) are always free.
Mario, as long as you spend a certain amount in each store, you can ask them to issue a tax free form (when you are doing a check-out.) Just don't forget to bring your passport or a picture of it (make sure the bar code is displayed clearly) because they will need it to fill out the paperwork.
Hello I would love to have to style me with outfits you can find in italy. I will be emailing you tonight if you could work with me.its so hard to find unique clothing in the western states.
Hi Anastasia, I’m planning my dream holiday to Italy. Been wanting to go from the time I was a teenager and now entering 40 and after a health scare I decided I am going to make it happen. I’m saving my pennies to make this solo trip from South Africa. One question: the shopping for the tax refund, is it one purchase or can we buy multiple items at one store? I love your clothes but will also like to purchase something for my 8 year old little boy. Thank you so much 🙏🏼. I’m addicted to your videos
So kind of you! Thank you. Very excited for your upcoming trip! You can buy as many items as you'd like in the store for a tax refund. As long as the minimum amount exceeds 154.94 €, the store will be able to issue you a refund.
I have been planning as well for the last few months. My tip is when you want tickets for something find the official website. The tickets are much less than what the tour sites offer. And one thing I wish I had found earlier is in Naples you can get 1, 3, 5 or 7 day passes that are a good deal for admission to Pompeii and the MANN and it includes other sites as well
I always love your videos, thank you for doing them. We'll be leaving for Italy soon and I always find them so informative and helpful. I do have a couple questions though. Would a picture of your passport be enough for stores, or does it have to be the real thing? Also does the purchase from the store have to be greater than the amount you said, or is it total purchases combined at the end of your trip? Thank you again for all the great videos.
Thank YOU for being a part of the community! Sure, will be happy to answer your questions. A picture of your passport is enough (just make sure the entire thing is visible, including all the letters and numbers around it.) The purchase from a single store needs to be greater than the amount, not the total purchase combined at the end of your trip. Please keep in mind that the limit has been decreased to 70 euros. Have a wonderful trip and happy shopping😉
April is a great month to visit Italy. I go into details in my video how to plan a trip to Italy ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-EprXlQhyTag.html
Hi Anastasia!! Would you be able to tell me what the weather is like in Italy around mid-end October? I am going to be there from Oct 21-28 or so! Thank you so much in advance!
I've been loving all your videos! My husband and I are celebrating our 20th anniversary in 2024.. I was thinking March (because that's when my parents can watch our 4 kids) but then I heard its rainy and wet then, and many places are closed.. is that true? If we came the 2nd week of March for 9 nights between rome, florence and venice, what do you think?
March is a bit of a wild card, to be honest. You might get some rain. This year has been unlike any other year, we got so much rain. But who knows, it might be a completely different March next year. I wish I could tell you with certainty but lately every year we've been getting a different weather, so now its hard to predict anything.
Great tips Anastasiya! My resolutions for next time I visit Rome: 1. To be brave and try the Metro. 2. To eat more street food and deli food. 3. To remember to do that tax refund thing. 4. Last time I went slightly off season (early May), but I feel like I really want to try truly off season like you mentioned. Sending 🤗 💕, Yahn
@@tessior621 I’d recommend checking out her videos on hidden gems of Rome. She’s got some great suggestions there. And if I’m remembering correctly she’s got a separate video on her favorite street food finds.
Hi Anastasia we are planning to visit Italy on Oct 13 to Nov 3 We are all Seniors so we booked at city centre in Rome, Venice and Milan one week rack is that a good idea Thanks
Hi Anastasiya. Thank you for your videos about travel tips, particularly in Rome. My wife and I are planning to go to Rome sometime in October and we were looking for accomodation somewhere in the central area of Rome and we find it too expensive. You mentioned in this video your recommended locations for accomodation. Could you please give me these locations again? And do you think that October is also a good time to go visit Rome? Thank you.
October is a great time to visit Rome (beautiful weather!), just keep in mind that it is also one of the busiest month of the year for tourism, so it will be expensive and crowded. As far as other areas to look into - Garbatella, Piramide and Pigneto.
I was wondering if you think I should buy train tickets now for my May 2022 to go around different regions in Italy or should I wait till a day of my actual trip due to Covid & I think once I buy I don't even know if there refundable.
Definitely wait! A lot of times I just come to the train station and buy tickets right before my departure. Of course, it depends on the destination, but to popular places you will have trains depart every 30 min/1 hour.
Hello, I happily stumbled across your RU-vid video. Great info; very helpful. Do you have a tip on how to go from FCO Airport to our hotel in Trevi? We are arriving from Canada mid August and after a long flight, I want to avoid the heat and humidity. The hotel has a car transfer service for 57 euros and seems to be an average cost. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
Hi Eve! You can either take a cab or a train ( I believe there is also a bus option.) I personally used train only once as I love to get out of the plane and get home comfortably as soon as possible. But I know a lot of people use the train. You can find signs for the train everywhere once you pass the immigration. As far as a car service, this year the prices went up a bit. A taxi used to be 48 euros, now I believe it's 50. So 57 is on the expensive end but that will guarantee that someone will be waiting for you right at the airport and you will not have to fight for a taxi in the heat and humidity.
Wow, thank you for your very quick reply! Yes, the car is convenient but also pricey. I will look into the train. I look forward to watching your other videos. :)
Hi Anastasia! I’m a new subscriber. Thanks so much for the accommodation s and metro tips. Definitely gonna watch this again before I plan of going. Thanks again
Love your channel Anastasia! I'll be visiting Italy in September and your channel has been so helpful!!! So looking forward to putting all your tips to good use!
It's rare to find anyone on RU-vid providing actual good information without rehashing the same typical content as everyone else, but you do such a perfect job! Thank you! This is actually good stuff to know that you wouldn't necessarily find on Google.
@@StayFabulousTL There it is! That’s an American attitude. My mistake. You’re right. So I’m heading over there in two days. Any recommendations on places to eat? I’ll be in Florence, Pisa, Rome, Naples, Amalfi - Positano, Catania, and Milan. Im trying to stay away from the tourist areas but don’t know where to go.
Yes, absolutely. The copy will work. Just make sure the entire bar code at the bottom is showing, otherwise they will not be able to scan it and you will have to fill out the entire thing manually.
Sure, you can always go on your own. You can use a train to get to Naples and then there are a few ways (car, ferry, etc) to get to Amalfi Coast. You definitely don't need to be on a tour to experience those places.
For our first visit, being elderly and not vaccinated should we go with a Tour company? Or is it a lot less expensive to go on my own? They seem to be so expensive, and I can never find the 3 destinations in one package. Venice, Rome and Amalfi Coast.
Hi Sylvia! I think it depends on the tour company and the type of a vacation you prefer. If you like everything planned for you then tour company is a better option. I personally prefer to discover places on my own at my speed and create my own itinerary. But it depends what you prefer.
Mid October is actually one of the highest seasons. Usually, you can swim until the end of September, but depending on October and where in Italy, it might still be warm enough to swim.
I actually have a couple! Here is one on restaurant scams: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-_KU_YyzsQg4.html and here is one on general scams in Italy and saving money: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Q4a-XUgfuYw.html
I noticed that when I was in Spain for some reason the local taxi app did not accept my phone number. When I put in my American number I could not receive a text to receive a confirmation code to continue through with my profile. Has anyone had that experience? If so what should I keep in mind?
This is the second video I’ve watched. The first one was on best time to visit Italy, your advice appears to be spot on. I just subscribed to your channel. Question: Is tip or service fee included most of the on price of food or listed independently? And are they required by law to inform the customer , either on the menu or just verbally?
Hello, we are a group of 5 (from Canada) and visiting Rome and Florence this May 2023, (4 days) any suggestions for cheap accommodations, good places and of course free places to see? Thank you so much for the attention.
I never been on a train. Is the metro only considered the city train or is the city bus also considered a metro? When you buy a bigglieto for the metro can you also use it for the bus or is it totally different type of ticket?
Having been to most countries in Europe I found the Italian staff in restaurants and shops to be a bit rude and prepared to rip you off at any opportunity. Just be more aware as someone who speaks English and no Italian you are seen as a soft touch as we are too polite to ask for our change or query a bill.
To be honest, it depends where in Trastevere. There are some quiet parts and there are some really loud ones. Also, please keep in mind that it's not well connected to the other areas of Rome so you might have to walk a lot or take cabs. But if you want to be in "the center of action" and be close to some of the best food places in Rome then it's a good choice.
Questions: Are all fountains in Italy available to refill our water bottles or is that just in Rome? Will the beginning of September be ok to visit Naples & Sicily?
There is always something! This year is obviously a bit different. I went to a chocolate festival in Perugia and turns out they moved it to a completely different location this year. When I got there everyone said it was nothing like in previous years. Let's see what the next year brings.
For the stores- it depends on the store, some do and some don't. Things changed a lot post pandemic. Now as far as restaurants, they do close somewhere between 3-3:30pm and 7-7:30pm. There are a few restaurants that remain open during that time, but most of them are touristy.
