Why do many of my bruises still hurt even 1-2 years later? I never iced them but I've been icing all my bruises recently. They still hurt on my hand, forearm, ankle, and knee. Thanks for any help, I've tried researching everywhere.
Have you been tested for anemia? Sounds like you bruise very often. But, with pain it could be an underling illness, such as diabetes, certain blood cancers, autoimmune disorders, and purpuric dermatosis (leaky blood vessels). I would suggest talking with your Dr. as soon as possible. Better to be safe than sorry. I am NOT medically trained. I have had similar symptoms and just wanted to offer my personal advice. I hope this helps. Good luck and feel better soon.
Hi doc, I hope you'll notice I had an injury on my thenar eminence before on hand I severely hit my thenar eminence wherein my hand become like this 🤌 and I severely open my hand It was really painful. Til now I'm experiencing pain in my hand both palmar and dorsal There are times that my dorsal hurts whenever I stretch my fingers What treatment could help? Thank you doc
I’m a gymnast. Following a fall on the corner of the beam I was diagnosed with a haematoma. It has been about 8 days after the injury to my right thigh (which was completely bruised from top to bottom of the thigh) the bruise has healed but I have a lump from the impact of the injury, which if the skin above it is pulled or tightened causes a ripping feeling. Is the ripping feeling caused by the muscle fibres sticking together when healing? How long will the lump (clot?) take to heal? Thanks!
The haematoma might take a while to go down and be careful as there is a chance of the lump developing to a myositis ossificans (google it) so be a little realistic in terms of training and let nature allow for the healing process. Regards JG
I was playing basketball, and a knee ran right into my thigh exactly where you put the stickers in the video. And my leg is in pain, hard to move. Any suggestions
Just happened to me playing basketball ball in gym class, what’s the fastest way to heal this? My lacrosse season starts Saturday and my leg was injured Monday
Is it normal to have a quad strain with lots of swelling above the knee that doesn't produce any pain. I have a hard time walking due to not having good mobility from it and my legs feels super heavy and my knees hurt and pop while moving a bit. I can't get the swelling to go down. 12 days now. I've been staying off my feet and doing the RICE treatment. No x-rays or MRI were done.
There is a pouch above the knee called the Supra patella pouch and is part of the synovial membrane as some say it is a bursa but incorrect - the knee can be irritated and this pouch can fill with synovial fluid, regards JG
I am a softball player and i pitch and I hit my leg with the ball as hard as I could on accident and is very bruised and I think I bruised the muscle so thank you for this it will really help
John.....my son (17) plays football at a high standard (UK version !) and gets regular dead legs 2 or 3 times every season, he sometimes isnt aware of what happened and tends to feel the injury a few hrs after a game.....healing often takes 1 to 3 weeks, are there excercises he can do to help with prevention or is it just bad luck, it always seems to be the right quads....
Dead legs always seems to be the right leg if honest and I looked after Rugby teams for many years so always see that type of injury....generally speaking its almost expected with contact sports and thats just the way it is....regards JG
Thanks John, I think this is reason some footballers have ridiculously muscular legs in that it’s not just for physical capability it’s as much to be able to cope with the impact and minimise the length of the recovery
Question I just found out that I have a bad bone bruising of my tibia where it meets my knee joint it's killing me all the time now is there anything I can do from home that will help me manage the pain while it heals
Intramuscular Hematoma on outer thigh. Iced for 4 days felt good switched to heat. Mistake. Iced 2 more days, felt good. Switched to heat mistake. My Hematoma says, "F You" for applying heat.
Why does the tape help? I landed on a rock right leg middle to the outer thigh. Knee swelled all kinds of pain. X-ray nothing broken. where I landed on a rock. It feels much better. But down around the knee muscles. Crap they are painful and when sleeping I move my leg and I know a heavy rain of burning pain is coming. Swelling in the knee is way down and the color is getting back to color. Its been 3 weeks towards 4. Bending leg painfully. How do I get the muscles around the knee to chill out? They are what is causing me pain in my knee.
Thanks for comments and the tape will cause a slight lifting effect to the skin and helps cause a space to allow the swelling to return towards the heart...thats the potential theory even though it hasn't been proved, regards JG
Hello I had a nasty motorcycle crash 9 days ago and I had a nasty bang to my hip/kidney area. I was diagnosed with a haematoma and doc didn't really say much to me. It's now bruised and gone a fully colour but I am in agony with it and struggling to walk. Its massively raised from my skin and causing sometimes very sharp feelings. Have you any idea what I should do?? Also will this bruising deffinatly go down?? Thank you
As long as it is only bruising and nothing else underlying as fractures to the hip etc then it will subside and will take some time, try the tape as will help and also hot cold therapy as helps with pain and bruising - try a cold pack for 1min then a hot pack for 1 min and repeat 5x so takes 10 mins and do everyday for a week or two. regards JG
I understand what you mean but it has to be a gentle approach as its trying to effect the lymphatic system - also they dont (in terms of research) really know how it works, regards JG
Is it normal to get a bruise when wearing kt tape during a workout? Because this happened to me last week on my shin but only the leg I was wearing it on. I thought it wld help avoid shin splints but it made my shin swell& bruise :(
I doubt the Tape will cause a bruise unless you have the tape on to tight as that can happen if someone is not competent in using the techniques, regards JG
Do people often confuse hemathoma pain with siatic nerve pain? My husband suffers from what seems to be hemathoma according to the comments and video but dr just gives him a shot (only does good for that day) and drs favorite antibiotic... TYLENOL!!!! He literally cries in pain... Hes barely bruised after 6 months.... This week the bruise came forward before it was just red and puffy... Everyone says its siatic nerve but i highly doubt it..
Sciatica won't give you pain down the front of the thigh as the nerve comes from L4-S3 and goes down the posterior thigh, anterior and lateral shin and under the foot...regards JG
I believe I had one on my arm and I had 3 bumps and it went down to one, the bruise went away but the bump has been on my arm for months. What do I do?
Someone ran into my thigh when playing soccer, for the first 5 days it was painful but calm, but after that the pain started coming down on to my ankle and feet and a bit in my calf. Is that okay?
Any specific directions for use on anterior medial shins? I fell down stairs 2 days ago and hit hard on the steel strip on the front of the bottom stair, about 2 inches below the knees. As I understand it, the starting anchor point should point toward the lymph nodes, but other than the inguinal nodes, I'm not sure of other nodes in the legs. I would appreciate your input in this. Thank you.
The lymph nodes in the groin are the main ones for the drainage of the anterior leg so to place the tape anchors towards that area will help and cross the fingers over the swelling. Regards JG
Hello, thank you for the video. I fell in the tub 2 years ago, hit my outer thigh hard. After. The bruise ( larger than my hand with fingers spread out) eventually went away, the lump, which I believe is Myositis Ossificans and it has never gone away. It is a huge lump and it hurts if I lay on it. The doctors can’t find anything in the X-ray and eco gram. I was hoping after this long it would have gone away. Do you think taping will help? I’m a 65 year old woman, and didn’t get to the doc on time, it was during covid, and we were locked down in another country. Any thoughts?

@@lutka12341 I wasn’’t able to on time, because we were out of the country and it was during the covid lockdown. Wish I had. But later, a doctor told me it is myositis ossificans. If that is what she has, you need to get it worked on soon, i waited too late, and now I’m stuck with this lump it seems.
@@lutka12341hi how's the result? I have also almost 2 months now the lump still there and it's painful and a slight sunken. I'm really worried by now I'm planning to have it check.
@@MusicRU-vid-s5uI hope she will reply but maybe she still feel the pain everytime she lay down on the side where the lump is . I have read one of her replies on the comments here. Mine is not visible but when I press it you will feel there's a lump that is flat and I still have pain after a month and when you really look closely it has a bit discoloration on that area where the lump is. I'm worried because the pain is like getting worse little by little my leg is like having a sore almost everyday now. Im really worried and anxious now
